Bloody hairdresser and bloody obsession with "layers". Said I wanted a blunt long bob - and came out looking like I'd just got out of time machine from the 90s! Arghhh apparently I absolutely needed the dreaded layers - looks awful. Gutted

I gave up in the end and now cut my own. At least if it is a mess I only have myself to blame.

Sorry to hear that OP. I feel your pain.

I had mine cut at a different place today - I have a one length bob, no layers, varying length over the years. Not very exciting, but it works for me and the amount of effort that I can be bothered to put into styling it - none, wash it and leave it to air dry.

So of course he wanted to put layers in and I had to talk him out of it - it may look great the way he styles it but I know that when I have layers one side sticks out and the other doesn't, so I end up having to blow dry it, which I can't be bothered doing etc etc. So he didn't layer it, he cut it really well and I'm happy, just wish I didn't have to be so assertive every time I go somewhere new.

And I want that and no one will/can do it!! That was the best hairstyle I ever had i loved it. My last hairdresser literally wafted the scissors over my head and then held out her hand.
