To think £148 is too much for a ticket

I want to take my dc to a Littlemix concert in Glasgow in November on a Saturday and it seems that for 4 of us to go it's going to cost £700 with a processing fee of £108!!! Wtaf? Can someone tell me how to do it more cheaply?

Bloody hell how much?

OopsDearyMe · 14/01/2017 14:39

Your best option is to go to the box office on the day, when they open approx 8am

TheWitTank · 14/01/2017 15:04

Bloody hell ShockShockHmm
It cost me a lot less than that to go and see a much bigger and more talented artist/s (sorry Little Mix).

Hairyhat · 14/01/2017 16:59

Thanks everyone. Some really useful info. The kids don't know they're going yet. They've never been to a concert. I will search again and try for a cheaper venue

Sod that

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/01/2017 17:02

I don't think it's the venue that's the problem, I saw 1D at the Hydro and at Murrayfield and it was £60ish a ticket.
(1D for comparison as similar fanbase)

Magzmarsh · 14/01/2017 17:05

Keep a look out on gumtree too, people usually just charge face value.

BrieAndChilli · 14/01/2017 17:09

Little mix are playing at our local castle, tickets go on sale next week but the council are selling a limited amount of tickets via the leisure centre to local residents the day before Smile seems a really good way f doing it - local people get a chance to get tickets before online sales start and touts buy them all up!

TheNaze73 · 14/01/2017 17:10

That is absolutely crackers. I wouldn't pay that for Barbra Streisand, Elvis, John Lennon & Ella Firzgerald as a supergroup

People are naive, if they think performers have no idea what's going on...

It's only too much if people won't pay it. The venues should charge more for the tickets in the first place then touts wouldn't buy popular tickets up using bots and sell them for far more.
People should think more about what else they could do for the same amount of money.

ForalltheSaints · 14/01/2017 17:18

£1.48 is too much for Little Mix. Spend the money on something else other than fifth rate karaoke- assuming that is they do not mime.

ConvincingLiar · 14/01/2017 17:19

TheNaze is right. This isn't a case of artists helplessly standing by while their fans are ripped off. It's perfectly possible to prevent tickets being sold at more than face value. Glastonbury prevent it.

I can't get too worked up about it. Tickets aren't an essential like housing or transport or food. If tickets are too expensive, I don't buy them. Like handbags.

Good luck finding some acceptably priced ones OP.

Little Mix will be playing at Newmarket Racecourse in summer holidays - tickets not out yet but generally about £30. You'd be better off spening the money travelling down, staying in a nice B&B and going there! Also you can get very close to the front as its all standing and people are usually generous about letting those with kids to the front.

Emmageddon · 14/01/2017 17:42

I took my little niece to see 1D and we had meet and greet VIP tickets for less than that. It was a few years ago, mind you, when 1D were just starting out and still looked about 12, and they were charming and sweet. Probably still are, for all I know.

Definitely look around for something cheaper, Little Mix aren't worth spending that much on, you could have a holiday for that amount of cash!

Memoires · 14/01/2017 17:46

For a band as crap as Littlemix??? Way waaaay over.

ratspeaker · 14/01/2017 17:53

June 30th Edinburgh tickets on sale through Ticketmaster this Wednesday

LagunaBubbles · 14/01/2017 17:57

Hairyhat it's not the venue it's the problem. When the tickets went on sake you could get them for the Hydro at face value. It's the fact they've now sold out, you will have the same problem likely at any venue that has sold out.

maggiecate · 14/01/2017 18:06

SeeTickets have got upper tier availability in Leeds, Saturday 14th - £39.20 each. Train down and overnight and you'd still be cheaper plus a fun weekend away.

jmh740 · 14/01/2017 18:29

I feel your pain I've just been on ticket master this morning too look for tickets to Manchester and decided I can't afford it.
