Ok first off Daily Mail Fuck the fuck off

Now my dd1 (13) and her friend want to go to comicon in London with her friends dad. I've never met him and been told before by friends mum " he's a flake and total man child" now apparently he's maturing Hmmand wants to take the girls into London ( we live in a village an 1hoir or so away. I asked to meet or at least call him before and was told he isn't interested in speaking to me him just wants to take the girls out for a nice day and I should loosen up. So WWYD ? I'm quite a laid back parent but this is too much for me but dh thinks it would be fine ?

Oh god update : now we are stepping into Jeremy Kyle. Dd1 has shown me a text from her friend who is at her dads today saying he is more than willing to meet and chat and here's his number ! So dh is on the phone to him now mouthing " he's a policeman " at me. God knows what happened but I think the end result is dd and her friend can go with him Blush

So it seems like the friends mum has had a good ole bitchfest about her ex beforehand, and is now scared to get caught out when you realise he isn't actually like that so she lied.

I hope your dd, her friend and the dad can have a lovely time without any more nonsense!

PossumInAPearTree · 14/01/2017 11:51

Well that sounds positive that he's now willing to meet.

When dd was 12yo and having a sleepover I remember one girls dad ringing and saying he hadn't met me so was unsure. Which I understood. So he came and dropped her off first so he could meet us. Which did make me wonder what he would do if he didn't like us, he'd have had to have said so and taken her home which would have been awkward all round! Thankfully we passed the inspection.

Good result. Are they dressing up? Comicon is good fun, they'll have a great time.

originalmavis · 14/01/2017 11:56

When is it on? Ds would love to go too!

zebratrainedteens · 14/01/2017 15:22

Ok so it seems friends dad is a lovely guy he's just left as he whizzed round to meet us. He wouldn't agree to ex giving out his number to everyone so apparently she took that as he wouldn't meet anyone Hmmthere was no way he was taking a teen he didn't know into London hence his visit, oh and dh and him are going for a pint next week and maybe the football soon as both Chelsea fans. I feel a bromance coming on Grin
Oh and comicon is 27th of may
I love happy endings
