Emergency Blue Peter sanitary solutions requested! (TMI obviously)

I just felt myself flooding, grabbed a tampon, shoved it in my pocket and shuffled down to the loo.

Having gotten the first part of the exchange done, I have pulled the tampon out of my pocket only to discover it is an Goodies Banana and Date Fruit bar. (other brands available).

I am a heavy bleeder and a long long way from my office.....

Any suggestions?

I always take my phone into the bath to listen to podcasts. Since the ensuite lock went peculiar, I've been taking it in there too, just in case.

It's not like taking a picnic in there, is it? I don't know, IS it bad?

There are key ring tampon holders but they are very boring, so I give you the crochet tampon monster!

morphene I tend to remember to take them out because they mostly need hand/delicates cycle on the machine so I'm handling them more than if I were just shoving a massive load in.

I have forgotten once or twice but that was nothing to deal with compared to some of the toilets I've had to use! Its weird - I manage to remember to take them out when I'm doing the washing but have an amazing talent for getting distracted between desk and loo and leaving them in the bag Confused

Crap loo paper in 2016 is just vile.

And yes - caffeine, my personal addiction!

wow-LOVE the tampon monster!

c8 yes I suppose the odd washing machine problem might be the lesser of two evils.

I once had to improvise with double sided tape and a wodge of paper towels. I worked in a remote location but luckily had craft supplies in the next room...

I find it very reassuring that other women have had to resort to the 'giant wad of toilet paper acting as sanitary towel' in extremis. Has anyone not had to? Shock

HateSummer · 13/01/2017 16:35

Exactly! I can't recount the amount of times I've been caught short of a sanitary towel outside the house. You just get on with it don't you? I've been having periods for 22 years.

You can make a sort of plug out of lots of wadded toilet paper. I used to do this in lieu of tampons til I was 18 (don't ask)

Morphene · 14/01/2017 16:45

I've plugged with normal bog roll before, but was looking for a better solution given the shite bog roll available....and I got one!
