To think Piers Morgan is a pompous bully?

This is about his shouty, nasty attack (today on Good Morning Britain) on the mother who sent her friend an invoice for her child's scuffed designer shoes.

I might not agree with the lady's actions, but for Morgan to shout at her and call her "the worst kind of mother" and reduce her to tears is reprehensible.

He's poisonous.

YANBU to think it was the worst kind of slanging match Jeremy Kyle TV but YABU to think it was a low blow/unfair line of questioning.

This is the same designer who made a skittles dress, a dress out of pubic hair and wanted sperm to make God knows what else.

Yes, she might have had a tough life but loads of us have. She wanted publicity, she got it. She was all smiley, laughing at the start, she put on the water works when the interview wasn't going her way.

And I'm sorry but a mum who insists her child is "pristine", spends £325 on shoes and has bought 60 pairs....for a THREE year old. That is utterly insane.
What it also instills in said child if not now but definitely later is a superficial value placed on fashion, material goods and brands. Kids are allowed to get filthy, they should get filthy without fear of criticism...if she was serious about only wanting her child to look pristine when with her as she is a designer, what other reaction does she expect?

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 19:01

However, Morgan's dismissive comments about her childhood and background were mean

TBF it was the mother who brought that up when the interview didn't start going her way. It wasn't relevant to the interview and I don't think he should have pandered to it.

SnowBodyforrrrm · 10/01/2017 19:01

Has anyone got a link to the pube dress??

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 19:04

pube dress Hmm

SnowBodyforrrrm · 10/01/2017 19:05

Totally agree about the abuse part. It was totally unrelated to why she was there. She tried bringing it up when he first started to push her and he (quite rightly) carried on with his line of questioning, then when it wasn't going her way, the chin started wobbling and she starts bringing up her past, like an X factor auditionee.

DearMrDilkington · 10/01/2017 19:06

I completely agree with what he said to her. Her dd will have serious issues growing up if she continues teating her like a doll.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/01/2017 19:06

Just seen that she dressed as child abuse victim for Halloween. What a cunt.

Mistletoze · 10/01/2017 19:07

Eek - I felt sorry for the lady and still think it was awful the way Morgan behaved but.... pube dress!

Mind you, there are plenty of examples of modern art that might be perceived as shocking or disgusting - Gilbert and George, the Chapman brothers, Andres Sorraro etc.

DearMrDilkington · 10/01/2017 19:09

That Halloween "outfit" is disgraceful. Absolutely vile woman.

What chance has her poor dd got in life with someone like that raising her.

Whosthemummynow · 10/01/2017 19:10

She an "abuse" victim, who chose to dress up as an actual abuse victim

The woman's a cunt.
No sympathy here

EweAreHere · 10/01/2017 19:11

I can't stand him. At all.

But the woman on the television programme with him isn't sympathetic at all. She appears to be an unreasonable bully herself, and is completely ridiculous with the amount of money she spends on a small child's clothes/shoes while expecting others to look out for them.

KimmySchmidtsFakeXmasSmile · 10/01/2017 19:11

I adored George. But Piers Morgan wrote The Insider ffs and its sequels (all of which are based on those columns). He is, was and always has been at heart a sleb gossip hack. Everyone knows this. Everyone knows that at some point they will end up in the book. To be fair he is discreet at certain points (he could have printed an email from Jonathan Ross to his missus about a potential trip or desire to go to Center Parcs Wink but didn't).
So if George was that indiscreet, he must have known who he was talking to. They seemed friendly enough when George gave him an exclusive about the song he was releasing for Wills and Kate.
Not sure George would give a fuck about it, and his fans won't give five fucks,
500 is sex what? once or twice a week. Just not monogamous sex. The only issue for me is the timing with family grieving.

Pinotwoman82 · 10/01/2017 19:12

I don't have any time for him and not seen the interview but seriously £300 for a 3 year olds shoes. Poor little girl no one will probably now let their child play with the little girl for fear of being invoiced!
And a pube dress?? And she wanted sperm ?? WTF?

SnowBodyforrrrm · 10/01/2017 19:14

She's either sat at home this evening cringing like mad or she's smug as fuck that she's got the attention she wanted. I'm not even going to look up the Halloween outfit, I was daft enough to look at the pube one but won't be giving her anymore of the attention she desires.

HelenaDove · 10/01/2017 19:14

Yep Huge hypocrite. He tweeted UK Power Networks having a go at them during the winter storms a few years ago when his elderly mum had been without power for many hours.

Happy to applaud right wing policies and privatisation but then throws his toys out of the pram as soon as it affects him.

LunaLoveg00d · 10/01/2017 19:16

He's made a career out of being an arse.

However she's not much better, another self-publicist like the woman on This Morning with her Procsecco.

Jellybean83 · 10/01/2017 19:20

I quite like him. I love that he didn't pussy foot around her, that woman is ridiculous and I don't see the issue with him letting her know that. It appears she has been desperate for this little 5 mins of fame, she needs to ride it out now warts and all.

Mistletoze · 10/01/2017 19:22

Interesting opinions!

I still think he's a nasty bully...

OP posts:
Magzmarsh · 10/01/2017 19:23

Just watched the clip and she deserved all she got and plenty more. For once I am 100% on his side.

I8toys · 10/01/2017 19:24

Totally agree with him

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 10/01/2017 19:26

I agree with others - Piers Morgan is King Cunt in a land of cunts.

However, the woman in question is an idiot. Fine, if you can afford to buy £300+ boots for your child and want to waste spend your money that way, that's your business. To send them on a playdate and expect them to return unmarked is crazy. To send the playdate mother an invoice is pure batshit.

I also smell somebody looking for a little "celebrity" exposure.

1horatio · 10/01/2017 19:31

I think the lady is crazy to charge somebody else for these shoes.

But I don't really dislike her. Wasn't she homeless? So, I guess she just really wants to provide her children with eveything she possibly can.
I guess people like that sometimes go a little... too far.

I don't really know the Morgan Chap. I don't know whether he's nice or the cunt of cuntland ;)

Megatherium · 10/01/2017 19:31

I don't like Morgan at all, but at no point during that interview did I feel sorry for his interviewee. It was plain that the crying was nothing more than a tactic, almost certainly pre-planned. For all her proclamations of victimhood, she seems to brush aside the fact that she was bullying the woman she threatened to sue. It was particularly ridiculous that she compared the damage to the shoes to a child coming home from a playdate with scratches on her body.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 10/01/2017 19:34

I don't like Piers Morgan but in this case I don't think he was being a bully. I think she was trying to make it seem like he was bullying her because she didn't like the criticism.

I agree.
