To go to A&E

Bearing in mind what's happening at the moment I need your opinions. I've been to the DR this evening for my 6 week old who has a nasty cough/cold. In the last 24 hours she hasn't drunk much and what she has drunk she's vomited back up. She's now refusing to feed and is just sleeping so in the last 7 hours she's had 2oz which she's vomited. She's pretty pale too. The doctor said if we get worried over night we should go to A&E and I will admit I'm worried. Would you go?

I would go, they never mind seeing a baby that little who is poorly.

StarBurger · 09/01/2017 20:10

Always better to be safe with babies. I'd go.

pudcat · 09/01/2017 20:10

The dr said go to to A and E if worried so go. She is so tiny. She needs help.

littleoysterslittleoysters · 09/01/2017 20:10

Go go go! This is why telling people not to go to A&E is so awful because the only people that don't go are the responsible considerate ones that should go. Hope you get on okay.

missyB1 · 09/01/2017 20:10

Bearing in mind what's happening with the ambulance service at the moment I would be more inclined to get baby to A&E yourself as who knows when an ambulance would get to you.

MistyMinge · 09/01/2017 20:12

Yes I would definitely. They can deteriorate rapidly at that age. No one is going to have an issue seeing a 6 week old. Hope she's better soon Flowers

girlelephant · 09/01/2017 20:17

OP really hope you're both at A&E & all is ok

happymumof4crazykids · 09/01/2017 20:21

I would just for reassurance that baby was ok.

Jakadaal · 09/01/2017 20:22

Ring 111 they may send a paramedic to you to assess your baby

Izubela · 09/01/2017 20:23

Go directly there and call 111 as they will asses on the phone and let them know your coming.we went with my 3 weeks old baby girl and she was seen pretty straight forward.

Thank you everyone. It's so hard to know what the right judgement is. We came and glad we did as she has bronchiolitis (spg!?). We've been admitted over night. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Thank you again.
