Expecting Trip Advisor reviewers to be fair

I know. I'm BU. But I fancy a rant.
Is it fair to blame the hotel, rating it TERRIBLE because it's not in the location you wanted it to be (in one case, near the Eiffel Tower)? Why not look up the hotels location before booking and if your travel company misinformed you, complain to them. Is it fair to complain the reception didn't point out how to get to the beach when the hotel is ON THE FUCKING BEACH? Is it fair to blame the hotel for the resort's restaurant touts? Is it fair to compain about continental breakfasts being served in a Paris hotel? If it's stale bread, tell them THERE AND THEN and ask for something fresher. If you're lacking a pillow TELL THEM, don't get home and moan onTA, and thus spoil your holiday.
Rant over.

SOme reviews are simply nuts on TA!!
The best one I ever saw was some woman complaining about how deep the sand was on the beach, as if the hotel staff had built the beach themselves Hmm
I usually only review hotels/restaurants on TA if I've had a particularly pleasant experience! If I've had a naff experience somewhere, I would usually try and resolve the issue there and then in an attempt to better the experience, not leave a negative review on TA!

Jade I wouldn't dream of screaming! it wasn't an awful experience just unprofessional. Pizza was good though. I hope they read the review and took it on board.

a few years ago i booked a hotel in malta then read the TA revues overall they were not good and i was expecting a not very good place, when we got there the room was huge, with an enormous bathroom, spotlessly clean with a power shower, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, the hotel is on both sides of a road, (tow buildings) and to get to one side from the other you have to go down in a lift and through a passageway under the road, people were complaining about this, took two minutes to get to our room from reception, so im glad i ignored the shitty reveues,
in Paris the small victorian town houses |hotel we picked had some very mixed revues , but we found the same thing small room but clean, comfy bed, a shower that worked, and once we had our bearings 5 minutes walk to place de republic where we could get tube trains to all parts of paris ,
when i go somwhere i expect nothing other than a clean bed a decent room and a shower or bath that works that way i dont get dissapointed and if i leave a revue i always leave a fair one, because if something fixable isnt right i go straight down to reception to get it sorted there and then

Why would any review site be reserved for positive comments?

I'd like some idea of the unprompted experience I might expect as a customer, not the one I can get by asking for something that should have been right/done in the first place. Even if you did sort it, it would put me off that you had to unless very minor.
