I am 9 months pregnant, due in a few days, just had a gush of water down below, it felt like when I have my period so I immediately thought "blood". However it is just water but a light brown colour (have white knickers on) - why would it be light brown? Meconium? Old blood? Or nothing to worry about? Have had a few twinges but I'm 99.9% sure they are not contractions but pressure. Don't want to phone maternity unit unless I really really need to. Google not much help!

TIA

Hi all thanks for your advice. I've been checked out and I am fine waters haven't gone likely just heavy discharge. Been told to keep an eye on it though!

Op, I think you the same poster with the competitive pregnant friend? Has she had it yet? Has she won? grin

Haha that is me in the inadvertent competition Grin I fear she may win Shock

that's good

my water went with my third (all over the bathroom floor - tribes in bed and rushed to the room with tiled floor lol) - they were brown colour and the smell was awful - perfectly normal though and baby arrived 40mins later

Noooo Cherry, you MUST win, especially as she doesn't know it's a competition - you'll get to be all secretly smug every time you see her! Grin

Jump up and down, do some pelvic tilts on all fours, eat a ton of pineapple and get naked with your DH/DP immediately! (disclaimer: I do not advise doing all four things simultaneously).
