To ask if any of you got married in this Ian Stuart dress

...and if so, if anyone would consider selling to me?

It's an Ian Stuart 'Basilica', from 2012. I am a terrible bride and didn't realise you had to order a dress months in advance. I am in love with this dress but can't find it anywhere. I will pay good money for it if anyone is willing to sell! Probably need a size 14 or above though might squeeze into a 12 if I go on a diet.

Really sorry if I've annoyed anyone with the unorthodox use of this forum - it's just I'm really desperate for this dress. Thanks everyone

Sarah x

Mine had a properly boned, corset bodice, so I had to be laced into it like bleddy Scarlet O'Hara - then it took 2 people, on their hands and knees, to smooth and straighten all the tulle underskirts.

It was a breathtaking dress though, and people actually did gasp when they saw me in it Grin

Enrique I have tried the "as they are all so different maybe a different style/same colour" thing but she wants what she wants hang the outcome! My DD is threatening to resign as bridesmaid which will piss me and the groom off. I have another 20 months of this I definitely think the "bride whisperer" could sort it after sorting this dress matter out so quickly 😉 that or I may need to emigrate 😤

Surreyblah · 12/01/2017 07:55

Ooh Ma, we'd love a pic!

Surreyblah · 12/01/2017 07:56

Dd1 has started watching "say yes to the dress", mainly because she's fascinated by the family dynamics: she gets quite cross when family members are criticial.

ClaryIsTheBest · 12/01/2017 09:33

Ma, that sounds so pretty.

I was unfortunately a bit of w wedding day frump and decided I needed a dress I could properly dance in. So, nothing poofy or mermaidy for me.

Yours sounds lovely!'

hollyisalovelyname · 12/01/2017 09:56

Has the OP come back to tell us if the dress arrived and looks great?

I used to work in this wedding dress shop who used to stock IS I know she had some sample gowns she was selling off, might be worth a look?

www.bridalgownscoventry.co.uk/

Also! importantly, wedding gowns all come one size smaller so you might need a 16 if you are a high street 14!

HairsprayBabe · 12/01/2017 10:04

oop bollocks Blush didnt see this had been answered!

amusedbush · 12/01/2017 10:11

What a lovely thread! I'm so glad you got your dress, mrsmadiba Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/01/2017 11:08

To be fair it's only been 5 days since OP started the thread ... guess it might take a bit longer than that for the dress to arrive, and that's assuming the seller posted it off the instant it was paid for?

bijouxxx · 12/01/2017 11:12

Yes I was just about say that even if it was sent on Monday that doesn't necessarily mean it will be here yet!

morningtoncrescent62 · 12/01/2017 15:38

How long is it likely to take from Austria? can't believe I'm so invested in seeing a complete stranger's wedding dress

MaQueen · 12/01/2017 17:50

Okay...here you go. Don't have a full length shot of the dress on this device, unfortunately, so you can't really see how hugely billowing the skirt was - my brothers kinda squished it all in to fit in the photo Grin

Rachel0Greep · 12/01/2017 18:43

Gorgeous Ma!

ClaryIsTheBest · 12/01/2017 19:00

That's so pretty ma. And I'm in awe that you wore something this big and voluminous. That's so determined!!

May I ask if it's customary in the U.K. (If that's were you're from) for the female witnesses/bridesmaids to wear white?
