To not be enjoying my baby's new found kicking ability?!

I am 22 weeks + 3. Up until two weeks ago, the baby's movements were light. Butterfly like. I was elated, warm and fuzzy full of love. Oh how this has changed! (Not the love bit - of course that's still there!)

The Giraffe I have inside me has taken to kicking the crap outta me! It's moving all the time. It's freaking me out and bordering on the unpleasant! Hell, it is unpleasant.

We went for our scan recently and the sonographer even commented on the length of the child and how active it is...

I have been very upset recently.. and wondered whether there might be a correlation?

Feeling so freaked out and I'm not really liking the sensation. (I also have SPD and a pretty bad back) I'm hoping this might improve when there's less room for the squiddle to summersault about?

Help ladies!

Opinions greatly appreciated!

I used to really dislike those very low down almost in your fairy fluttery type movements- just felt creepy!

My last child was very very active in the womb (I used to worry he may be overactive) be warned- he was into everything very early on and now won't stop for a second he's like a whirlwind

FourKidsNotCrazyYet · 06/01/2017 22:53

It gets much stronger. Sorry OP! Wait until a perfect outline of a foot pokes out and slides slowly down your stomach into your groin. That made me want to vom and I love being pregnant and kicked!

i remember how it felt like my daughter was having a party in there, she was as spirited as she is now.It was certainly a echo of things to come, shes so full of spirit

Another thug baby here fond of a big ol bladder stamp.

Whitecovers · 06/01/2017 23:39

i really didn't like the sensations of the hard kicks, especially the elbows that was like daggers, I used to try and push them back in Blush

I also remember if the baby would go to one side and my stomach would be like a cone all leaning to the left or right, looked really odd.

The sonographer said my placenta was at the back and that was why I could feel everything so much but not sure if he was trying to make me feel better.

My second was nicknamed 'Fidget' in the womb. 7 years layer and he still lives up to that reputation - no button goes un-pushed, no lever un-twiddled, no pen un-screwed.

That delightful feeling of my bladder being 'fidgeted' is still large in my memory.

Yeah... it gets worse ... my son used to use my ribs as leverage to try and push his head through my stomach Shock
When he was born it was funny watching his wee movements as I recognised them already Smile it's lovely really.

KayTee87 · 07/01/2017 00:23

Oh yeah the moving completely over to one side so you're completely lopsided - I'd almost forgotten that!

mineofuselessinformation · 07/01/2017 00:25

Hmm, I'm with many others and have graphic memories of dc1 who was breech until 38+ weeks, and loved to rub their head along my ribs, and stretch their feet down at the same time.
Having said that, you'll have deranged fond memories of it once they're born. Grin

BoredOnMatLeave · 07/01/2017 07:26

It gets so much worse, DD used to kick my ribs so hard. She's 6 months old now and still does it Hmm

ToastyFingers · 07/01/2017 08:47

Dd1 used to do a breast-stroke style scrabble at my cervix. She was born with one hand above her head, like Superman which made a lot of sense.
