Blocking neighbour's car with bins

I know I'm being petty and passive aggressive but am I being that U?
I live in a row of 6 flats and we have a small car park in front of homes just for us as all spaces are numbered. The neighbour who lives in the house opposite has her own drive yet she still takes it upon herself to park in our car park, and not even in an actual space, just a very awkward position so she is next to her drive but not on it. Over the two years we have all been here (new build so all moved in similar times) myself and at least 2 other neighbours have asked her nicely if she cannot park there as it's awkward for many of us getting in and out. She stopped for quite a few months, but last night my mum popped round to drop some bits off and couldn't stay as she said she can't park without hitting neighbours car, I've not had chance to see neighbour today but tonight when I was putting bins out for our 6 flats, she was parked there again. By now I was feeling rather angry, and quite petty so I barricaded her car in with all the bins and recycle boxes; was that really pathetic of me because now I've thought about it I'm feeling it was perhaps too far, but I can't be arsed going back out to move them so I guess I'd like someone to tell me I should leave them where they are to make me feel better GrinConfused

This is hilarious.

Are you going to own up to it when they knock on doors asking who it was?

Summerisdone · 05/01/2017 21:15

I've posted now through the site, does it make a difference to those that couldn't see it before?

I've just checked and the picture shows up on the APP

ChickenVindaloo2 · 05/01/2017 21:16

Oh definitely barricade her in with bins. AND put a banana up the exhaust. AND park on her drive.

vindictive

SortAllTheThings · 05/01/2017 21:17

So...

"HER car is the yellow squiggle and the dark blue bit is her drive, the red bits are our spaces and it really is too tight to get in or out of the last 3-4 spots when she is parked there... "

Summerisdone · 05/01/2017 21:17

If she comes and asks then I'll defo own up to it, I half hoped she caught me doing it through her front room window TBH Grin

Quick, install a penguin bollard!

No diagram. Deeply unsatisfying 😃🚗

DailyMaui · 05/01/2017 21:18

Cross posted. I now see a neon parking diagram

JigglyTuff · 05/01/2017 21:19

Aha - I've gone onto the app and I can see it now. Great diagram - love the neon glow :o

She's totally taking the piss. Is her drive really long and is there anywhere else for her to park so she's not blocking the husband? What's the other red space off to the left?

EweAreHere · 05/01/2017 21:19

I can now see why her parking is so ridiculous for those who have parking spaces.

I think you should block her in with bins every time she does it ... hopefully this time will be all that's needed.

So she's basically blocked spaces 1,2,3 & 4. Have I read the diagram correctly?

AcrossthePond55 · 05/01/2017 21:22

Erect a bogus 'no parking here' sign, put up penguin bollards, move your car to park there first, and if all that fails buy the piece of property and put up a fence.

(Did I forget any other solutions?)

For next week

ChasedByBees · 05/01/2017 21:23

Next time I'd park on her drive.

StuffYouAllInTheCrust · 05/01/2017 21:24

Stuff like this really gets on my tits! YANBU - I'd do exactly the same...

TheMrsD · 05/01/2017 21:25

Has she got a cat? Start feeding it chicken then it will become your cat evil laugh
If she hasn't, I'm out of ideas.

bloodyteenagers · 05/01/2017 21:26

Screw the bins. Why don't all the flats
Get together and block her in with their cars. In fact might only need your Mums car and spaces 2 and 3. Not anyone else's problem her hubby don't like her blocking him in. They could do a quick change at
Night.

dangermouseisace · 05/01/2017 21:26

Brilliant! 3 of you have asked nicely and it hasn't worked I think you are perfectly entitled to barricade her in with bins. Well done you I expect some of your fellow flat dwellers are peeing themselves laughing. I would be.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 05/01/2017 21:27

Go OP!

It'll only take a couple of times before she stops!

WhatchaMaCalllit · 05/01/2017 21:27

Question OP - what is the royal blue bit that looks like a road in your diagram? Is it a footpath or a road or a neighbouring estate?

I think blocking her in using bins would only be effective so long as the bins are not collected before she needs to leave in the morning or this evening.

I'd recommend approaching your neighbours that use the numbered spaces with a letter that you will all sign as "Residents of Units 2 - 6" complaining that her lack of parking consideration is impacting on everyones comfort of living"

DJBaggySmalls · 05/01/2017 21:28

You definitely have to borrow SortAllTheThings well trained spiders and get them to cocoon her car. Its evil genius.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 05/01/2017 21:30

Sorry - just after realising that you mentioned the dark blue bit is her driveway.
