If my OH asked me a question and I don't answer immediately (eg in middle of trying to serve up kid's dinner) he often chooses to then say my name and make a small whistle at me, much like you would to call a dog, to get my attention.....really pisses me off.....aibu to think this is an unacceptable way to speak to me? Feels degrading! Maybe I'm being too sensitive! Have asked him repeatedly not to do it but he continues.....

Sounds like a bad habit.

I would not respond to a whistle.

Explain to him how it makes you feel and that you will no longer respond to it and then carry it out.

Er No he'd be whistling I can tell you if he did that to me, because his face would be too bruised to do anything else. Bloody cheek. You ought to start clicking your fingers at him!

'I'm not a fucking dog! Piss off with doing that shit!' Simple

Pee up his leg, that'll teach him.

YANBU.

Grin love that idea!

What a grim thing to do! I would have words and tell him his behaviour is a bad example to the DC. So he needs to quit it and be patient if you're busy.

My FIL does this. Drives me bonkers. No way would I respond to him.
