To ask if anyone woke up gasping for a cigarette this morning?

So...I've done it. Nicotine will no longer have a hold on me.

DH and my best friend have quit too...plenty of support, so no excuse.

I woke up hungover and gasping for a ciggie- but not as much as I thought I would!

Does it get easier?

11 years for me. It does get easier.

As from about 3 hours ago I'm 6 squares in to a new blanket. I think that, when it's finished, it's going to be a symbol of success.

Over 13 years here and it feels great. It is worth it.

But do have realistic expectations so you are prepared. It took me more than 3 years to stop wanting a ciggy, especially when drinking. I did succumb twice during extreme stressful situations (and they tasted vile, made me feel ill, but I still wanted them) but never bought any and stopped after one or two.

WAHW I think you can see your "slips" as a positive thing. It tasted so vile that you didn't want another, and it was a reminder of why you quit in the first place?
