To feel a bit down in the dumps for no reason

I'm off this week with DH and DS. I just feel a bit low and tearful. I don't think I'm depressed - it's only come on this week. I think it might be the fact that there's such a big build up to Christmas and then it's just a bit of an anticlimax.

Also my DH is my DS's (1 y/o) favourite at the moment. He always wants daddy to hold him...doesn't want me. I know it's just a phase he's going through (I was his favourite last week, lol) but it's just getting me down a bit.

I'm sat in the kitchen on my own. I've got so much to feel thankful and grateful for, but I just can't shake off this weird feeling of sadness. Can someone help me get a grip?

Yeah, it looks like it was a load of total crap. Funny how rumours spread like that. Glad it's nothing

Feeling the same here, you are not alone. I never really relish Christmas, we have no extended family to visit and with 4 kids myself all the hard work and preparation falling to just me and dh. I feel exhausted from all the extra work Christmas brings and have then spent almost every day since Christmas day at work.

The dark days really start to get to me after a while - my energy levels are always low at this time of year. Christmas was absolutely fine, but we've been running around like headless chickens. I have a fairly stressful job, and really need my annual leave for a break, but at Christmas it seems impossible. Roll on February half-term: lighter days, less to do!

In the meantime I'm planning to spend the next three mornings out walking, and the next three afternoons in bed.

How did your day go ShowMePotatoSalad? Hope you're feeling a bit more upbeat!

Glad it's not just me. Feels a relieve to find this thread.

I've been down, snappy, slightly anxious and feeling a little hopeless. I've had depression before and I know when I'm depressed, this feels like a more watered down version.

My plan is to go for a long walk tomorrow.
