To want to seek revenge on these scumbags

Ive just read an article on a newspaper website about a man who has murdered his 6 mo on Christmas Day. I'm sick of hearing these stories and I don't want to read about it but every day there seems to be a new horror story unfolding! It's so sad to know this is happening everywhere. I obviously am not going to seek revenge on these people but I'm not being unreasonable to want great harm to come to them, surely ?

I've always thought it was because even in prison (perhaps especially in prison) they need someone to look down on and feel they're a better person than 'I might have robbed from my nan and beat my kids, but I never raped/murdered them like that scumbag over there'.

Boogers · 29/12/2016 11:37

If enough people wanted a return to the death penalty or torture, politicians would have to act. Until that glorious day, we have to bide our time I'm afraid

Gosh, didn't realise the dark ages were looked upon with such fondness. Shall we bring back thumbscrews? Or go the whole hog with the iron maiden and rack? Or can we insert a spike up the rectum through the whole body, exiting through the mouth like they did in the Spanish inquisition? Or maybe being boiled in oil? How about we go all ISIS with their methods of torture and interpretation of the death penalty?

I cannot believe someone is seriously advocating torture as a form of punishment. Hmm

I know from various people who work in the prison system, that child killers and child abusers are very often kept in a wing together away from the rest of the prison population, precisely because they are targets. There are of course 'mistakes' made when the other prisoners cross their paths.

The rest of the prison population definitely see themselves as superior, anyone in for harming a child, particularly 'nonces' are utterly despised.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 29/12/2016 11:41

I can, Boogers, because this place is nuts, a melting pot of craziness!

Bettercallsaul1 · 29/12/2016 11:42

Despite some people having committed terrible crimes, I find this gleeful rejoicing in what's going to happen to them in prison ghastly. All prisoners have the right to protection in prison - they are going there as punishment, not for punishment. The idea that there is a "hierarchy" of offenders, who feel entitled to mete out their own justice, is ridiculous and indefensible. Truly the law of the jungle.

I agree almost entirely with GilMartin, except that I would have put YANBU on the first line. It is not unreasonable to feel this way at about horrendous crimes but this is the reason why we need a fair justice system.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 29/12/2016 11:43

Goldenhandshake, well perhaps the light of reality shining on their own misdeeds would be a good thing. I just laugh at the idea of somebody in prison for any kind of violent crime, holding themselves up as any kind of better example.

SVJAA · 29/12/2016 11:46

The man who murdered my friend is kept in protective custody for his own safety, alongside two other brutes. They've nicknamed themselves "the ladykillers" apparently. Hmm
Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck what happens to him, I just don't want him to die because I want him to serve out every damn day of his sentence.

NameChanger22 · 29/12/2016 11:48

I completely disagree with capital punishment. I want anyone that harms a child to live a terrible life and suffer.

HappyFlappy · 29/12/2016 11:57

genocidal

Oh. Is this how Hitler started?

KeptOnRaining · 29/12/2016 11:57

YANBU

I don't want the death penalty brought back either.

I'm all for rough justice for these bastards. Stocks in the town centre for starters.

You can't 'rehabilitate' sick fucks like this.

limitedperiodonly · 29/12/2016 12:05

It doesn't always work out that child abusers get hurt in prison. It only happens to the ones that no one fears or likes.

Ronnie Kray, who liked to rape teenage boys when he was free, found a steady supply of them in jail and was very much respected. I'm sure there are many others.

Paddington68 · 29/12/2016 12:18

Give money to Childline, or volunteer at a local children's charity. There is no better revenge than helping those in danger.

cookieswirls · 29/12/2016 15:24

Paddington I would give all the money I have to childline but I fear it won't help

Neither is a baying mob driving people out of their homes because they suspect them to be paediatricians

Didnt realise doctors were hated so much

That actually happened. The Police had to escort a doctor and her daughter safely out of the house after a (BNP inspired) anti pedophile campaign went tits up.
She advertised in the local phone book as a paediatrician, and they took it from there.
