AIBU to expect you to keep your distance a bit if you have a very heavy cold?

My sister has a terrible cold. She has just come round to my mum's house (we're staying over Christmas and new year) because she is bored at home. She complained about how terribly ill she is and then she picked up my children and gave them kisses and cuddles. I said, in a friendly tone 'oh please don't kiss them if you are that ill' and now I am in the doghouse.

Ffs.

Not that it matters, but they have both just got over Scarlett fever, which was preceded by a tummy bug, which was preceded by a cold. So I have had it with illnesses, as have they, obviously.

My DS agreed to my suggestion to visit her, with my 4mth old DC. When I got there, it transpired that all 3 of her DC were riddled with ringworm & their kitten, who was the source was wandering around. Her DS, aged 5,was cuddling the kitten & then trying to touch my DC. I was FURIOUS. I left within 15 minutes & had to call her later to ask her to never, ever do that to me again, that the decision to expose my child to whatever it may be, should be mine.

I can't stand it when people do this. I've got asthma and a simple cold can leave me unable to get out of bed for 2 weeks, anything worse usually means a trip to the hospital and another round of steroids.

People still ignore me when I ask them not to come round when they are ill, saying "it's only a little cold" and my immune system is crap so I always catch it and have a miserable couple of weeks.
