A spider catcher

ThomasRichard · 25/12/2016 22:16

😂 it could have been worse! I'd quite like one of those.

RoseGoldHippie · 25/12/2016 22:22

Confused but....why?....

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 25/12/2016 22:31

Um ok....

Did your ex used to be chief spider catcher?

So now you need a device?

Expellibramus · 25/12/2016 22:35

Maybe the other half of your gift is free roaming in your house Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 26/12/2016 01:18

I seem to recall and earlier poster mentioning a tarantula ...

FriskyFrog · 26/12/2016 02:44

Just googled spider catchers....how is one meant to safely dispose of caught spider once entangled in bristles?

I may have to stick with my trusty Dyson. Not emptying it though

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 26/12/2016 02:48

She's never coming back to tell us, is she?

DollyPlastic · 26/12/2016 08:37

Even at Christmas the Cliffhanger troll doesn't get a day off.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 26/12/2016 08:41

She did

contrary13 · 26/12/2016 08:56

My ex - whom I've not spoken to directly, nor indeed seen, since DS (12) was 8 or 9 - always... always... buys, wraps and handwrites the gift tag for, a box of my favourite chocolates and sends them along with his mother. It was something of a joke between the two of us whilst we were together - the only time he bought me anything, was a box of my favourite chocolates at Christmas. Not even on my birthday. That's fine. I send him a gift from myself and the children every year... even though I actually wouldn't spit on him if he were on fire. It makes our DS happy, and that's all that matters.

What I do find very worrying, however, is the fact that he always writes "with lots of love always, from..." on the gift tag. And his wife's name is never added. Our DC, however, get "from Dad" on their gift tags.

What I find even more worrying... is the fact that after having known me for 30 years, my ex has only just, this year, decided to spell my name correctly. Discovering my name spelt as it should be on the tag this year... made me feel slightly sick, and even our DS was a little perturbed by it. It makes me wonder why he's up to, to be honest! Xmas Confused

contrary13 · 26/12/2016 08:57

That should read: "what he's up to" Xmas Blush

thegoodnameshadgone · 01/01/2017 23:18

For everyone who said I didn't post, I did it was a spider catcher

Gingernaut · 01/01/2017 23:22

Very useful.

Is it one of the Bettaware ones with a square pyramid at the bottom and a lid which slides closed?

AlpacaPicnic · 01/01/2017 23:59

@aliceinunderpants ...
I have to know why possibly being near Plymouth had relevance?!

AliceInUnderpants · 02/01/2017 00:09

@AlpacaPicnic - I read Plymouth Poundland had a half-price sale on Wink

Klaptout · 02/01/2017 00:18

At least it wasn't a gift from Ann summers.

TitaniasCloset · 02/01/2017 03:36

Maybe the tarantula comes on your birthday?

AlpacaPicnic · 02/01/2017 10:44

Sounds about right actually! Good old classy plimuff...
