Not done the Christmas food shop yet. Any advice on the best tactics for tomorrow?

Just that really. I'll need to do a budget supermarket and at least one other store. Do I rock up for opening time, or is that what everyone else will do?

I was pleasantly surprised too. Sainsburys opened at 6am, I turned up at 7 and it was fine, reasonably quiet, no queues. I got everything I needed and then popped into Waitrose, stayed for a coffee as the cafe was so quiet.

I went to Asda at 10 just for a few bits and the New Year Radio Times and it was fine. Went to Gregg's for stotties and it was empty and the stotties were warm.

We braved M&S food hall but only needed a couple of bits and it was surprisingly quiet. They had loads of stock, including turkeys!

Waitrose yesterday morning was chaos, I've never seen queues so big in there before!

I live opposite a couple of big supermarkets and they've been surprisingly quiet all day.

Maybe all the online shopping is making a big difference.

Just come back from last minute shopping at Tesco. I could easily have got all the Christmas dinner ingredients and party stuff too! They close at 7pm.

I braved Tescos yesterday for the essentials things I'd forgotten in the online shop. There were people queuing at 8:30am for the dehli counter!

I made a mistake of doing my food shop New Years Eve once. That was worse than the Christmas shop!
