First time we've had a real one. DH & I bought one from the local 'pop up' store. It's outside, and the guy is selling a large selection of them. He does this annually.
We've got it outside in the shed, and I've just been looking online - everything he's said seems opposite to what I'm finding.
For example, I asked him how I will be able to water it, and where do I find a pot big enough.(it has a truck type base on the end) He told me that I wont need to water them at all, as it's only a week away 
I asked him how long ago it had been cut - he told me that all Christmas trees are cut at least a week before they go into garden centres / stores.
Anyway, at the time all seemed fine. We chose our tree, he wrapped it in the machine and we bought it home. Now I'm googling, and worried. I wish we had bought the pot grown one we saw in our local Dobbies. DH says I'm being unreasonable, and it will be fine.
