Posting here for traffic as it's only a few days to go :

My dd is a good reader , she is 7 year two - she has read everything we have so far here - we are now at the point where Roald Dahl is too hard and first stage chapter books are too easy
Could anyone recommend and reading collections in between please ?

What about the library as well or instead of water stones? Then if she borrows a book that she doesn't like there has been no cost. And I'm sure the librarian will be able to help too
Ds likes the Oliver moon books and dirty Bertie, wishing chair etc worst witch would be good and a new series coming soon on cbbc.

I was about to suggest the Secret Seven, I see you have mentioned them.

Some nice books in this link;

Dd is also 7 and in Year 2 and loves reading. I've just bought a Secret Seven set too!
Her favourite reads so far have been Holly Webb books - endless books about kittens and puppies! Also likes Winnie the Witch and the Faraway tree books. Thinking about getting her Pippi Longstocking but we may see if they're at library.

The ‘Ramona' books by Beverly Cleary are fab!

yes to this! I read them as a child and have now enjoyed them again with my 7 year old. You need to explain a bit of the language as it's very American (great hilarity at their use of the word "pants")
