To just want a normal cat

lighthearted

The other day, I took my dog out for a walk, he is reactive to other dogs and while we are working to address this, he is on the lead and we stay away from other dogs.

As I got to the park, I saw 2 other dogs so walked in the other direction, this however meant I was walking into the sun, and so didn't see the doberman off the lead till it was too late. My dog let go of his ball and starts barking. This doberman sees the ball and grabs it.

This is when my darling 3 legged cat dashes out the bushes and starts on the fucking doberman.

The doberman, looks at my cat, does what I can only assume is laugh his arse off and runs off with the ball.

This literally takes place within 20 seconds, owner of said doberman, calls his dog, places him on the lead and throws me the ball.

Meanwhile I am trying to restrain the damn cat

Thank you so much for the offer Jen, but I think I will keep the little bastard.

Although we did recently find out he has been peeing in our son's ball pit.

That will teach me to leave it out

Awwwwww that's fabulous Grin He is obviously a clever little chap Grin

sobeyondthehills · 18/12/2016 00:07

He is a smart cookie, has the dog, the child, DP and me wrapped round his little paw.

I will never forget the night when he injured his leg, he was missing for over 24 hours, came back and his leg was a mess (assumed he was hit by a car) he turned up at 10.03pm 3 minutes after our vet closed so we had to take him to an emergency vet.

Now I am not saying he knew but........ ;)

He was probably watching the clock Grin

DJBaggySmalls · 18/12/2016 00:10

My neighbours cat walks with him to the corner shop and waits outside.
Wailing.

Banty

Spot on. Also Day 765.

Although he brings in live ones. The last time, he bought one in, it escaped and ran behind the tumble dryer, causing us to move the fucking thing out the way, not being able to catch the very agile, jumping fucker.

If he had been that quick to begin with, he might not of been caught. Then ending up with me being locked in the toilet, trying to catch the damn thing. with one cat in their with me and the other cat crying outside the door

My lovely 3 legged ginger cat then spent 3 hours sulking at the tumble dryer

I think he wanted to prove how much extra we loved him, it added another £400 on the bill

my first cat took on a dog who used to wander and crap on our lawn...he chased it down the drive and then pounced on him with all four feet and more or less rode MysterycrapperDog home. ...dog decided our lawn was not the best place for its toilette.

idiotcat has taken to waiting for ds2 to hove into view when he is out running, whereupon he chases up to him and escorts him home.

Ha ha! Reminds me of the lovely cat we had when I was a kid. A beautiful grey with white bib and paws. She took no nonsense from dog or child.

One day a man arrived with his very large dog to discuss work with my dad. Dad said to keep an eye on the dog as we had a cat. The man said "It's OK my dog doesn't bother cats." Dad said "Oh but my cat bothers dogs." The man just laughed, but minutes later his large hound hurtled out of the garden howling.

"Is your cat a bloody tiger?" is I think the polite interpretation of what he actually said!

Xmas Grin Xmas Grin thank you your post has made my night, I love cats and mine are just like this, they chase dogs, lie in wait under the beds and then attack my ankles every time I walk by, I have also had my cats follow me for a 15 minute walk to the shops along a busy road I might add.. I also have a cat with split personality she is loving and affectionate one minute then biting and scratching the next lol so nice to know my cats are not the only ones

You take the cat you have to take the child and the dog.

He has laid claim to them.

Take DP as well, I can have a lovely time with the other cat ;)

mummydawn we live in a close, but very very close to a busy road, and he has followed us down the road.

At one stage I had him cross over the road using the traffic lights. Since he has lost his leg, he is more a home cat and doesn't go far, thank God because he was scaring the life out of me

Love these stories. Our old family cat had the dog wrapped around his paw. Cat used to hide and jump out at (very large) dog - to the point where the dog didn't like going down the stairs first as he knew the cat would be lying in wait Grin

Great cat thread! DH, cat and I have been awake for the past hour, mainly due to the fact Dcat 'brushes' my hair with his claws when he decides it's breakfast time (4.30am today, so 20 mins before usual weekday alarm). As I tell him daily, it's a good job he's cute.

cats you've gotta love them Grin
