Today was my last day at work. My team got me a voucher for £30.

My boss doesn't like me (reason for leaving) and it's close to Christmas, but isn't that just a paltry amount for 10 years of service?

9 people contributed.

I feel embarrassed.

Except one job where one of the bosses felt sorry for me and bought a card and a bottle. All the staff drew dicks in the card. I am horrible!

This made me smile (probably shouldn't have.)

I left my company after 20 years. Parted very amicably. My manager (CEO of the company) didn't even take me to lunch or email me to say goodbye (I was instrumental in having him appointed CEO - worked directly with previous CEO on succession planning). the chief communications officer retired after 30 years of really brilliant work and she got ... nothing - not even a lunch from the CEO/CEO. Ditto the chief facilities guy (except I think he worked there for 40 years).

Work is just work. fuck 'em.

I honestly thought I would post this and everyone would be like oh you ungrateful cow bag.

I'm thankful for anything, but the it's the lack of thought and care that stings.

A packet of my favourite biscuits would have been better as at least I would have know they had thought of me!

Anyway, I not going to let it bear down on me anymore x

I think that's really bad. Where I used to work we would all give a certain amount per term and a commitee would allocate a certain amount per year for leavers/ standard amount for flowers when in hospital, that kind of thing.
It then changed to single donations for that cause.
When I left for maternity, after working for 5 years, I received £70 mothercare vouchers alongside gifts from upwards of 20 members of staff (baby clothes etc). I remember feeling a bit embarrassed that there was a collection as so many people had already given their own gifts.
Then I returned and handed in my notice and worked what I had to in order to not pay back my maternity pay. When I left I received £30 voucher which I was grateful and didn't expect due to how much I'd already received.

I can understand that you would feel hurt.

That's a pretty poor show. But pull up your big girl pants and move on - really not worth worrying about - you are leaving them all behind.

So its just over £3 a person at a time of year when money can be tight. That seems quite good to me. I have worked at places where people put in a £1.

When you're happy somewhere else it will not matter a jot, yes its miserable but honestly give the headspace to your future instead. Just been through similar, manager absolutely bloody useless then got nasty when I handed my notice in and moved on. 2 years working ridiculously hard to get a good Ofsted, got more recognition of Ofsted than the boss. Your gift is your out of it, they are stuck there. Good luck in the future.
