AIBU to be irritated by people posting lovely photos on FB with a negative attention seeking comment about their appearance!!

I have noticed this more and more where people will post a lovely picture of themselves with a comment saying "don't know about this one I might delete it as I look awful" Or saying they look fat when they blatantly have less fat than a ryvita!
If you post a bloody selfie, commit to it people!
I find a lot of teens tend to do this and I assume it's their way of gaining approval or confidence.

It annoys me too (when it's done by an adult - my teenage cousins get a free pass!).

I do find certain people over use Facebook for image crafting. Obviously no one's going to post pictures of the whole family having a screaming row - fair enough you're going to choose the pictures when you were having a lovely time but I hate it when you're not putting your best foot forward but presenting a completely false image of yourself.

I know one person who's constantly posting pictures from days out in nice locations with captions such as "perfect family day #feelingblessed", once when I ask her about it afterwards (I thought I might take my family to the place she'd been) she said "oh it was awful we had to queue all day, the kids didn't stop fighting and it cost a fortune".

I don't mind it when it's teenagers as they do genuinely have self-esteem issues because they're told how they should look, and they probably do need that bit of niceness and morale boosting.

When it's adult women I generally feel it's just attention-seeking.

Fair enough if it's teens going through a self absorbed phase and needing reassurance they look OK.
I don't understand why adults would keep posting pictures of themselves.

YANBU. Irritating as.

Picture of person who has clearly spent hours on their hair and makeup, camera for selfie lifted above head height - trout (vag) pout, tits out, messy bedroom beyond

Caption... "Hmm - not sure?..."

Comments... "Ur gorgeous hun" etc etc
