Why is this happening?

Unless you've been living under a rock surely you've noticed that our public services have all been a "little stretched" lately? Paediatric beds are no different. Working to capacity through the year means that at times of high demand there is no give in the system. Surely no one is surprised at this any more???

Gin I;ve been away for a year. I should have said. How bad are things?

This has been happening for many, many years. It isn't just children either.

15 years ago we had the same with my GM.

Google NHS shortages and I'm sure you'll find lots of stories.

It really depends on the borough though, some have more resources than others.

Worrying, yes, but not at all surprising. I don't know if it's got much worse over the last year, but the NHS has been in decline for years.

Having said that, when my DS broke his arm in the summer, the care he received was amazing, so it's not all bad.
