To make a bedtime flask of tea?

I'm a single mum and really miss the pleasure of having a cuppa brought to me in bed. It's really a simple pleasure that I used to enjoy.

So tomorrow morning I can have a rare lie in, and DS now seems to stay in his pit forever until woken.

I've made myself a cuppa in a flask and a tray with my cup, some digestives and my book. So in the morning I can enjoy a brew, and a read without getting up!

I feel a bit silly now though. Xmas Blush

That takes me back to being a child and staying with my nan at weekends - she had a teasmade and used to set it for a Saturday and Sunday morning, and we would have a digestive biscuit and a cuppa before we got up.

Silly? Not at all.

We all need a few simple pleasures. Enjoy it

That's such a brilliant idea, I need a flask!!

I have a kettle and tea bags in my bedroom on my chest of drawers. I just take milk and a cup up with me at night. Kettle is really useful for hot water bottles too.

Simple pleasures, IMO, are what life is all about. Enjoy your cuppa.

This looks interesting!! www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VROB1DS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jljtyb2JBHCP7

I would love something that would go nicely in the bedroom to make tea

I've never had coffee in bed, well extremely rarely. To make up for it, my (adult) children bought me a coffee maker for the bedroom. It's fabulous!

changeymcchangeface · 10/12/2016 23:51

Sounds perfect! Enjoy.

I made a little hotel style tea station with a spare kettle, mug and tea bags etc, and I bought some of those little single serving milk sachets they have at cafes. But I rarely used it so put it all away. Now quite jealous!

I keep seeing cheap Tassimos for sale on Facebook and considering getting one of those upstairs as they're so quick to make and some coffees come with their own milk pods so no need to remember to take up fresh milk at night.

Teasmade is easily available. Mine is unplugged upstairs though Xmas Blush waiting for me to recommission it after a big clear out. I must do it in time for the Xmas holidays when I won't have to get up

My husband bought me a teasmaid (mainly so he didn't have to get out of bed to make tea). I love it - despite all the piss taking from friends. Far nicer to wake up to it boiling than an alarm too.

Ineedmorelemonpledge · 11/12/2016 06:56

Good morning! Brew

Well it worked. Unlike the lie-in...I woke at blooming 6am. Grin

Tea was not boiling, but still enjoyable and no strange taste from the flask.

And I'm still in bed, just trying to not think about getting up and doing the ironing.Hmm

Loving the organisational skills here...machines, sachets, thermal milk holders....

Definitely going to keep a look out for a cheap bedside tea maker in the new year when I get paid. And a discreet biscuit tin for my digestives. Sundays may take on a whole new shape!

Oh I feel like Barbara Cartland!
