Please tell me someone elses DC turn loopy around this time ?

I have 3 under 5 and they wrestle, screech, whinge (because they got hurt wrestling) even though I told them to stop wrestling.

I am trying to make dinner whilst DC1 and DC2 do the above whilst DC3 (baby) shouts because I dared to put him down for a bloody minute.

Opening wine once baby asleep ! Xmas Hmm

Oh for me it's before and after 5. Wine

Sittingunderafrostysky · 10/12/2016 18:17

Of course it is! That's why I always fed them at 5pm, bath at 6pm.

It gets better!

ipswichwitch · 10/12/2016 18:17

Same here with out two. It's doubly bad today as DS2 has had his birthday party so they are extra hyper and screechy. Wine may be consumed when they've gone to bed. The Christmas tree I was planning g to put up tonight may look a bit worse for wear!

SmallBee · 10/12/2016 18:18

I think it's between 4:30 and 5:30 for us. Once they've eaten they calm down a bit.

Tastesjustlikecherrycola85 · 10/12/2016 18:26

Yep, 5pm is the time for tears and tantrums in this house

CheshireDing · 10/12/2016 18:28

DC2 had the cheek to tell me "it's too noisey" no shit Sherlock

and there are no biscuits or cake in the house (Parental fail) Xmas Sad

Definitely is for DS.

It's like he's too hungry, too tired, too fed up. Every night I s a meltdown, won't sit at the table, won't eat dinner, throwing himself around. After he's had ten minutes quiet time in his room he's like a different kid ConfusedGrinWine

Juanbablo · 10/12/2016 18:34

Absolutely. Like a pp said we try to stick to dinner at 5, bath at 6 while they are small. Mine are a little older than yours now and it is better now.

Dh has been out since 10am and I've had a horrible headache all day and I can't wait to collapse with maltesers later. Witching hour was earlier today, about 4pm, which meant dcs jumping off the sofa into a washing basket full of pillows.

Rainatnight · 10/12/2016 18:35

My mother used to call it 'suicide hour' Hmm

primarynoodle · 10/12/2016 18:37

5 month old here and yep, I can set the clock by her! Grumpy little sod Grin

CheshireDing · 10/12/2016 18:46

Ha ha, love the "suicide hour", that's exactly what it is.

Especially when DC1 is saying to DC2 "stop it you're strangling me" (and repeat 500 times)

Have emailed DH to bring chocolate/cake home, although that won't be til 9pm :( :(

Yes it doesn't get any better as they get older either except maybe gets a little later.

Around 6pm is when my two start wrestling on the living room rug or generally grabbing each other/rolling around and being loud.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 10/12/2016 19:28

Oh yes, definitely! 4-6pm are the witching hours.

TooMinty · 10/12/2016 19:39

Mine start at 4pm usually.
Winefor all of us parents!

teenmumandsowhat · 10/12/2016 19:40

It's always the hour before dinner That is the worst...

wornoutboots · 10/12/2016 19:41

I have 3 under 6.
we call the hour before bedtime "aresehole hour"

does that answer your question?

scrivette · 10/12/2016 20:03

Oh yes. I consume a lot of chocolate during this hour to try to keep me sane.

Camomila · 10/12/2016 20:32

That's usually nap time here. 8pm (bed time) is the witching hour here, especially as DS can now stand up in his cot. sigh...
