To buy one gift for three children?

Bit of background; my cousin & I exchange gifts for our DC, she has three and I have one. Generally we have a budget of around £10 per child. I know she has bought my DS a present and of course I am very grateful but we have recently moved house and it seems like our house has turned into somewhat a money pit and I haven't really been able to spend as much as I would of perhaps liked on gifts for others this year.

Obviously I want to give a gift to her children but would it be really tight to give them Splat!, (Cheaper version of pie face! But still cost £12) a can of squirty cream, a nice glass bottle of coke & a large bar of chocolate each with the intention it's a family game for them to enjoy? I plan on wrapping in cellophane to give it a hamper kind of style look.

I could be way of the mark and perhaps should of just spent £10 per child 🙈

I have three and the children would all be thrilled with that.

Perfect gift!

Sounds great, if the kids are old enough to be drinking Coke. Sounds thoughtful. 😊

Sweets101 · 09/12/2016 19:43

Sounds lovely!

Cary2012 · 09/12/2016 19:43

I think that sounds like a lovely fun family gift, and I certainly wouldn't have got the hump if my three had received that back in the day.

Your cousin should appreciate that money's short and be pleased.

Yes don't worry it. We do a similar exchange at xmas. Small family with big family and we both give board games.

Sounds fab to me. Smile
We've stopped doing wasteful present swapping with friends that have three dc. It was costing £50-£60 so we put a stop to it last year.
We get a cardboard box and wrap it in nice paper and ribbon, fill the box with a xmas movie (£3 in Tesco) a bottle of something popcorn nuts lots of nice biscuits a share bag of doritos lots of chocolates and then put cellophane around it with a nice big tag.
Our friends loved it last year and it only cost £10 ish to do.
Worth a lot more than a present that gets forgotten pretty quickly.
Our only wish is that someone would do us one Smile

I think your gift sounds lovely!
I'm sure your cousin will think so too and won't be adding up how much it cost you.
I have 4dcs and one of my sils(with 2dcs) once suggested jokingly(I think!) that she bought for two of mine one Christmas and the other two the next!

Catsize - they are big coke fans! Much to my dismay 🙈🙈 thought glass bottles of coke are a bit naicer too being as its Christmas xx

The Coke lorry is in our city tonight and the kids I teach were so excited at seeing it tonight, so yes Coke as a treat is very much Christmas related
