WIBU to get rid of all of DS(3)'s clothes?

DS has an absolute fuck ton of clothes. I'm talking stuff that fits him, not old stuff. MIL buys him so much stuff it's unreal (even though I try to discourage this without dictating).

Anyway, he is currently only wearing stuff with superhero's on it. He just refuses to wear anything else. Right now I'm too tired to fight him so bar a few occasions where we insist he wears something smarter, he just wears the same 4-5 things on rotation.

I'm so sick of looking at it all in the wardrobe. Some of it is so nice that it's a shame it's essentially going to waste just hanging there. WIBU to just get rid? I could probably sell it as it's all good stuff (think next, GAP etc) not the supermarket stuff that I buy him!

I'd keep it til he's outgrown it then sell it. He might wake up one day and want to wear something else or you might have an occasion come up he needs smart for. If he's pretty much going into a new size, less need to wait.

Why does MIL only but for plb?

I feel your pain, my dd only wants to wear clothes 'with a skirt' which means dresses / skirts with a flippy skirt that she can twirl in (damn you ballet lessons). This means she won't wear a good portion of her wardrobe. I have given up arguing with her and just let her choose her own clothes when buying something new now as it's easier. She is growing out of most of the stuff she won't wear now and I'm saving it for her younger sister. If I was you I wouldn't get rid of the clothes though, he might change his mind - you can always sell them when he has grown out of them

Any chance of exchanging some of it for larger sizes?

MommaGee · 09/12/2016 10:44

Perfect last born. Why does she buy for DC3 only??

user1471449040 · 09/12/2016 10:48

momma I think OP means her son is aged 3, not one of three children

I would get rid. I have had trouble selling clothes on eBay, just getting really poor prices and buyer getting a steal, so much so that I decided to start giving the clothes to charity instead.

Yoarchie · 09/12/2016 10:50

He will be in a bigger size in no time anyway.

If they are brand clothes see if there's a Facebook selling group, you'll get a much better price there thab ebay.

On the Little Bird (mothercare) Facebook selling groups for example clothes are often sold at nearly the shop price if they're in excellent condition.

Better to get rid before Christmas too, you'll get a more takers probably. Everyone a bit skint in Jan!

MommaGee · 09/12/2016 11:22

Ah sorry OP didn't mean to did the very generous MIL
