Some of you may recall I asked your advice about resigning from my DD's pre-school committee.

I e-mailed th chair my notice yesterday morning and have not yet had a response, not even to say she's received it and is sorry etc.

Am I jumping the gun?

yeh, I wouldn;t worry. They may not have checked their email. Give it the weekend and them maybe speak to them.

TravellingontheClaphamOmnibus · 16/02/2007 22:44

Hell yes!

Do you really expect her to check her email constantly?

Alternatively she's mulling over a thread on mumsnet entitled:

"committee member has resigned, what should I say to her?"

unknownrebelbang · 16/02/2007 22:47

Fraid so.

Could be any number of reasons why she hasn't responded yet.

(ironic, me saying this, as I'm terrible when I'm waiting for something)

I do check my mails daily - from the social point of view you understand - my PC is the only life I have, I am imprisoned by my children!!

Actually, I check mine frequently too. But I know that others don't...

LowFatMilkshake · 16/02/2007 22:52

well they should

Yes, you are!

But, I would feel the same and would be swearing about them under my breath for not attaching the importance to replying as I think they should. It's always the case that when you are thinking about something it seems to take ages to get sorted out, it's like waiting for a pan of water to boil!

TravellingontheClaphamOmnibus · 16/02/2007 22:59

do you want her to beg you to come back?

LowFatMilkshake · 16/02/2007 23:01

No but it would be nice to be valued. Sometime I think most of the members (most of whos children are now in first school) use the committee as an excuse for a jolly!
