AIBU with my Christmas card sending?

My DH is really crap at buying Christmas/birthday presents, so, rightly or wrongly, I usually do it for both sides of our family. I don't mind, I'm good at it and I'm very decisive. I also do cards. When sending them out this morning it has occurred to me that I might have been a bit U. I have sent MIL and SILx2 generic Xmas cards (think Aldi multipack cards), whereas I've sent my parents, brother and grandparents fancy personalised Moonpig type cards with a picture of DC on the front.

I didn't do this maliciously, I like DHs family in small doses but my family make a much bigger deal about Christmas. I suppose part of me also thinks that it really should be DHs responsibility to do these cards, and as he's relinquished control of gifts/cards to me then he should accept the basic card service I provide Wink (he's very grateful I should add, and pulls his weight in other areas!)

No one will be meeting up and comparing cards, so no issues about anyone feeling upset, but have I been mean?

In case it makes a difference, MIL & SIL1 haven't got me a birthday card or gift, erm, ever (7 years...), they are pretty scatty, it's not malicious (I hope), so I leave their birthdays up to DH, on principle Grin

Are you me? We have exactly the same thing excrpt my in laws haven't bought me a birthday card/present or Christmas present gor 16 years.

I used to buy similar amounts for both sides of the family but as it was not reciprocated mentioned it to DH who told me not to bother for his side although I do send 'pack' cards yo thrm still.

Excuse typos! Stubby fingers on iPhone

Yanbu and if DH is annoyed then he should sort it himself

Would MIL and SILs care? DH sends his mum a large personalised Christmas card with special schmaltzy words. I send my mum a non-descript card out of a selection box. This is because his mum puts great store by the card and mine doesn't ...

My DP and in-laws aren't bothered for cards. My 'D'M would create merry hell if I'd suggested not sending cards. (We're NC now so she's certainly not getting one this year!). I'd just carry on as you are.

I'm not sending my inlaws any sort of Christmas correspondence because they are cunts not very nice. They haven't congratulated me on giving birth nearly a year ago, to their grandchild, so I shall not be sending them any sort of card or present to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ Grin

YANBU,
If it means a lot to their son/brother, he should do it.

I have similar sounding in laws (not even so much as a text on my birthday) but I'd probably have done the grandparents a personalised one as I know they'd really like it. My DH barely remembers his mothers birthday so if I wasn't for me none of the family would ever receive anything from us.

Glad to hear IANBU Grin I doubt in laws would care particularly, and DH will do anything for an easy life. My conscience is clean (at least on this matter Xmas Wink)!
