Every time I see someone has written "need gone today" a little bit of me dies inside! AIBU or is this something that irritates others!

The latest on Facebook in my area is to post a picture of some shitty toy or worn out kids coat " for a family in need at xmas. Comment below and my son with pick someone". Patronising or what?

OohMavis · 05/12/2016 14:16

I looooathe freebay. Fucking hate all the simpering, patronising shite people post.

"Free: Toy Kitchen, covered with stickrs and half shit missing!
ONLY COMMENT IF UR TRUELY IN NEED
NO SELLING ON
PLS USE UR MANNERS
I will get my lil princess to pick a name from a hat later
Gd luck everone xxx"

"Pls can I be considered pls hun pls and thank u xx my lil girl would love dis and we are skint at the mo xxxx thank u xxx"

It's why I've come off the freebay groups despite it being a great idea in principle and having given away loads of stuff. I can't deal with the high and mighty arseholes who get a kick from making people beg for their tat.

What ever happened to 'I don't need this anymore, anyone want it?'

VintagePerfumista · 05/12/2016 14:17

Oh goody! Another let's take the piss out of the people whose English isn't as good as ours thread.

Why, it must be 24 hours since we last had one.

Toocleverbyhalf2 · 05/12/2016 14:20

Mavis, you've seen it too! I think I might come off there too, right after I've offered my son's broken toy to a "deserving family" Grin

HaloOnFire · 05/12/2016 14:54

I have what I'm loathe to call a friend who spends most of her day on these free pages. She can certainly afford to buy things.
Her tactic is to get friends and family with different surnames to comment on freebie posts for her. I noticed one the other week where she was after something for her Grandson, of the 9 or 10 comments on it almost all were her or her cronies.

Twogoats

I've always wanted a bonglo . . .

TroysMammy · 05/12/2016 15:39

Yes it does irritate me but not as much as "boils my piss."

FlappysMammyAndPopeInExile · 05/12/2016 15:41

halo

What a witch!

Most of us have better things to do with our time, and wouldn't be so spiteful anyway. What motivates these tossers people?

CautionHotSurface · 05/12/2016 18:39

Shpock is the worst for this. Full of time wasting twats.

Then gumtree and freecycle.

At least eBay has some stringent protection in place.

I've been putting a lot of stuff up over the last few months (condensing three houses into one, plus getting ready for an international move). All free, and I do say 'priority will be given to the person who can pick up ASAP' as I don't want the 'can u dilivir hun?' responses. I'm giving it away (it's all in good condition, I just can't be arsed with dealing with selling it) and don't want to be jerked around.

melj1213 · 05/12/2016 23:10

The best (worst?) I have seen was one post on my local seek&sell

"Large bag of Christmas decorations, need gone by 5pm or will go in the bin as having something delivered and need the space. Collection only. £10 the lot.PM for pics" Posted at 4:35pm

Who only realises they need space for something an hour before it arrives?! And then posts up on to FB with a half hour collection window and no details? Just take it all to one of the (many) charity shops in town if you're that desperate to get rid of it.

81blondie81 · 05/12/2016 23:16

I also used to get annoyed by 'need gone today' until recently.

One young lady was selling a couple of decorations for the home that, to be honest, would be cheaper to buy in the shops (think Store 21, Home Bargains etc).

I had a little nosey on her facebook page (thought I knew her), and I saw a post from earlier that day, where she was saying she had no money to pay for food for her to eat that night. If only I lived closer.

It made me realise that not is all as it seems with some of the selling posts.

AmIBeingUnseasonal · 05/12/2016 23:43

YANBU, I find it irritating when people respond to posts with single words often followed by multiple question marks, especially when the answer is already in the post.

"PRICE??????"
"HM????"

Also:

Person 1 "How much?"
Seller: "pmed"
Person 2 "What's the price please?"
Seller:"pmed"
Person 3 "How much are you looking for"
Seller: "pmed"

Just put the price on the post Shock

Posts with "no offers" inundated with
"What's your best price"
"How much will you take"
"Will u tk ne less"

Lastly, just dumping a rubbish picture and writing
"Cost £50 want 40" or just "want £40" as the description.

IABU and miserable Blush

AmIBeingUnseasonal · 05/12/2016 23:45

Oops, nearly forgot, lowball offers followed by cash Blush

Item is £250

Potential buyer: "£75. CASH. NOW."

WiddlinDiddlin · 06/12/2016 03:09

I like piss boiling, nowt wrong with that you unreasonable fuckers.

Anyway, lets get festive, maybe we should be mulling piss this time of year, not boiling it.

As Unseasonal says, the ones that won't put the frigging bastarding price on piss me off the most - they will tell everyone the price by PM so why not post the fucking price.

I have NO desire to sit around waiting for some numpty to pm me the price for me to then find out it is not a price I wish to pay for whatever it is... if it was on the advert then I could scroll on by if necessary.

LetsGoFly · 06/12/2016 13:10

Just spent half hour going through these and having a laugh.

Seriously, this is the best parenting website on the net. You're all fab.

Would it be unfair to say Mumsnet attracts a certain group? (Good, mostly).

Had enough of the huns and 'my absolute world' groups Grin

Dizzybintess · 06/12/2016 23:28

Mulled piss sounds very festive.
