swimmingpool accident

Hi
Swimming with DS this afternoon. Great time we exited the pool at closure time, had a shower and managed to grab the last big cubicle. No changing table but DS is basically toilet trained now (normal underware), we still use swim nappies just in case of accidents and DS had been in the morning so all looked ok. Unfortunately on inspection he'd had a big poo. So for lack of a table I gathered wipes and nappy sacks and headed back to the shower cubical. I removed the nappy into a sack, wiped him clean and deposited wipes into waiting nappy sack then showered him off. Now though I was careful when removing and cleaning there was a bit of over splatter (anyone having had a full nappy will testify it's not pretty). I scrubbed the boy, myself and the cubical ensuring nothing lodged in the drain grate etc. My question is was I unreasonable? I would have used a changing table but they are only in certain cabins and all were taken. I certainly can say that it was clean when we left but wonder what other people think.

Sounds like you made the best use possible of the resources around you.

I couldn't get worked up about it, but have 2 pooey children so my hygiene bar is set very low!

DailyMailSucksAss · 04/12/2016 18:53

I personally would have taken him to a toilet cubicle to remove/wipe the poo and return for the shower. This has happened to dsd and neice a lot during swimming but I've never felt the need to nappy change in the shower.

I think what you did was fine. I often shower my boy in my own house when he's had a big 'un & so it wouldn't bother me in a pool.

Thanks for the replys. Just wanted tocheck i wwasn't "that" person.
DailyMail, I get what you say but I think i would have made a mess of the toilet cubical and needed a mop. Plus it was freezing.

engineersthumb · 04/12/2016 19:13

Big but diluted into stodgy ( most in nappy sack)
Eek!

From your introduction I was expecting you to say said poo had escaped the nappy and you were stood by the pool watching it float away.
Seems reasonable what you did. Not your fault the facilities weren't available (another changing table etc)
