to ask what I could spend £200 on for my 3 and 6 year old for Christmas

I know it sounds a bit silly, but my dad has given two hundred pounds and wants me to buy something, preferably that he can wrap, for his grandchildren. They are age 3 and 6. I know the most sensible thing to do would be to put it into their account, but I would like to honour my dad's wishes. It is also possible that we can add to this if it were a gift that would last for years. Any ideas?

Trampoline for the garden?

My kids are 3 and 6 and spent all summer on ours.

Is it to share or does he want something each? Are they girls or boys?

A playhouse or garden toys?

Or something nice to open (a wanted toy) and annual membership to a play area/local attraction?

Do you have a garden? If you added the same you could get a good playhouse.

Sorry, I assumed you meant separate, but trampoline is a great idea for a joint present, as cakes said

Agree garden equipment- trampoline, swings, slide etc that'll last older one a few years but can still be used by little one

What do they already have?

Could you get a complete wooden railway or a farm etc which could be kept later on and passed down?

If they and he are religious I'd suggest nice copies of your holy book, in a hard case, which would last into adulthood.
You could also get things like a box set of all the Roald Dahl books, which would get a lot of use per £.

A scooter/bike each? A second-hand tablet with age-appropriate apps for them both?

Oh yes! A lovely kitchen with some of that gorgeous wooden food. It's all quite expensive once you add it up. 200 will buy a nice selection.

Playhouse for garden.

I've got a 6 and 20 month old and we've bought a swing plus trapeze and baby swing, 180 in total.
Can't wrap it though!

trampoline is an excellent idea. We have one but I might consider a bigger one. It's actually the first thing I suggested to my dad and his response was he can't wrap it lol

A boy and a girl. We have a wii (which we hardly use) but would an X box be any good going forward, or is that not so appropriate at their ages?

Just read the other ideas. We've a great swing/slide set which should last a good few years. Wooden kitchen/shop and brio track we have too. Oh no, they've got tablets too. . . That was last Christmas!

Playmobil is a great suggestion. Mine are 3 and 5 (nearly 4&6) and are REALLY getting into it.

In fact, they played nicely for 2 hours TOGETHER with the Christmas set I got them for 1/12.

Looked up gorilla gym and it's given me the idea to get some gymnastics equipment. Parallel bars are 400 quid!
We've got tons of lego, but no play Mobil. I shall investigate
