Reborn dolls.. even the most realistic looking look horrible but recently I've seen some terrible examples on fb selling pages. These two are right up there on the wtf scale!

NIGHT. MARES.
whimper
I can kind of understand why someone might get a decent reborn doll. However I would be utterly creeped out by one. Don't get me started on the dog/monkey/pig ones. Those will make you shit your knickers in fear.

TowerRavenSeven · 03/12/2016 00:23

I'd be afraid they would murder me in my sleep! Creepy doesn't cover it!

Waanderlust · 03/12/2016 00:49

My mums friend has them.

She had a stillborn in the 80s and unfortunately never got offered help to come to terms with it.

Even now she suffers from crippling depression.

Even if you cannot relate to them, I find it very ignorant to mock anyone who wants to buy them.

RichardBucket · 03/12/2016 01:10

They're creepy as fuck and I don't understand the appeal at all.

Even the name "reborn" is creepy.

11 year old niece is having a £200 one for Christmas Confused

My daughter has two reborns. I measure toys value in price per use. They were a bargin, especially when compared to the bloody waste of time paw patrol pup pads... She has two friends who also have two each. I know of other girls between 8 and 14 who have reborns and love them.

BUT the examples in the op are terrible. Some ive seen on fb are truly ugly and weird.

kali110 · 03/12/2016 01:22

I have no problem with some reborns.
They're good for Some people who have lost children, people in homes or just general collectors, but good reborns.
Not things like these monstrosities

As hideous as the Cabbage Patch dolls that were a craze in the 80s. A dd wanted one. We've still got it, and it came out the other day in a box of toys we've kept for visiting kids to play with.
The dd who wanted it happened to be there when it all came out for Gdd, and wondered why she'd ever wanted anything so plug ugly.
(Gdd was more interested in the baby boy doll with a little willy like her baby brother's.)
