to give a piece of my mind to the dogwalker

to give a piece of my mind to the dogwalker who, when challenged about picking up his beast's poop which it had deposited on the pavement right in front of my NDN's garage door, shrugged and said he didn't have a bag on him. Well why the fuck not, since the object of taking the animal out is to enable it to empty its bowels?
I provided him with a (used) tissue from my coat pocket and waited while he picked up the turd. He muttered that it was only a Chihuahua not an Alsatian, but I don't care - a turd is a turd and it has no business being on the pavement.
As he skulked off after his dog I yelled "and don't forget to bring a bag next time!" In fact I hope I've warned him off properly and he'll go elsewhere next time. Of course, the alternative is that next time he pops the turd through my letterbox.... I wouldn't normally be so bold as to challenge him like that, but he was just so brazen and blasé about it.

"I wouldn't expect a non dog owner to know this but they will obviously voice their biased opinion anyway!"

You realise how ridiculous you sound? You've expressed an ignorant opinion whilst slagging someone else off for theirs.

Really how hard is it to carry a few bags with you ? My neighbour has a roll of bags in a wee container that is attached to her dogs lead.

Wish I knew who let their dog run down my drive to poo at the side of my step last week, and then just left it. Revolting to have to clean it up. ( and I know it wasn't my neighbour as her dog is always on a lead and she has bags)

Good for you OP.
I think some people do need to be shamed into picking up poo.
and it doesn't matter about the size of the poo, when you step in it,or your kids it's just awful!

Re: exercise requirements - often bigger dogs need less exercise than little ones, depending on what they are bred for.

Our Dane - guarding breed - is quite content with a couple of 20 minute walks a day, and just lying about looking ridiculous ferocious the rest of the time. The spanners get walked on a shift system (7.30 - me out with them for an hour/hour and a half. 10.00 - DH out for 30mins or so. 12.00 - me again - another hour. 3.00 Both of us - round the park another hour. Evening - 20 -30 mins, with of us. Almost all of these walks are off lead, chasing a ball/stick/each other, and they would still have more if they had the chance.

Our little terriers wee the same - tons of energy - never seemed to tire.

*were not wee

Though they do wee, obviously

Aww Phedre that's sad. Poor thing. Can you not set up a camera? My DS sets his up at his bedroom window as he loves to do time lapse videos on his iPad. Just a thought.

Giving someone your dirty tissue is no better, just sayin'.

I wondered about that, Pluto, but first of all if he'd had a bag with him then it wouldn't have been necessary and secondly since he picked up the dog poo with it he would pr'esumably have been washing his hands properly as soon as he could, so a few human germs wouldn't put him at risk.

SevenSunshine
maybe get a little box of nappy sacks and put them in your hall so if you see it again you can pass them out.
Yes, I was thinking of doing that - I have an old tissue box full of flimsy supermarket bags which I'm going to put just inside my garage for future occasions. I would have got him a bag this time, but they were on the other side of the house and I figured he'd have done a bunk before I got back.
I'd not seen the Chihuahua before so I don't know if it's a new pet or just a new route for him..... but if I see him do it again I might try and find out where he lives. Normally NDN does the "poo police" in our street so I was happy to return the favour.

It's vile op. I carry bags on me and have spares in handbag and all my coats. I also take water incase my dogs poo is runny and needs extra swishing.
