...to think this is uncalled for?

A friend has just posted a photo of a random child sitting near him and his wife on a plane with the comment "If this brat makes any noise, I'll be complaining to cabin crew." Said friend has one adult daughter and is otherwise a nice guy. Loads of people have commented saying how people shouldn't bring children on planes etc. I am sitting on my hands but I really want to call him a dickhead. Should I?

Ask him directly whether or not he had the parent's permission to photograph their child and post it on the internet?

Point out that schools, preschools and other organisations have to get permission to take photographs. Suggest he removes it if he doesn't have that.

Of course children can sometimes cause a problem on flights, but that doesn't give anyone licence to photograph the child of a complete stranger and vilify them online.
