She just said to the child "be careful" not even in a stern way and the child carried on scooting about in the shop.

The mother saw that her DC hit me, but then just avoided eye contact with me. AIBU to think she should of at least said sorry to me, told the child off sternly and then taken the scooter off? What kind of parent lets their children use these inside and then just ignores any disruption they cause? I swear organic natural shops have the rudest clientele, you wouldn't get this in ASDA

Sainsburys....one parent 10m behind the child carefully ignoring, one parent 20m ahead...nothing to do with him. Toddler doing snow angels on the floor and makes a split second attempt to get her fingers under the wheel of my trolley at the exact moment of passing. Luckily parents don't see anything at all. Grrrrr

Is anyone seriously going to say the mother wasn't rude? Hmm

Very rude - my ds has a bad habit of not looking where he is walking , I find myself apologising at least 3/4 times per day because he's walked into someone Blush

YANBU. Scooters should be banned everywhere except parks and their own back gardens IMO.

Odd isn't it. I was almost run into today by a three year old on a scooter. We were in the street. The mother was lovlely and was calling to her DD, "Slow down, be careful, watch the lady" - Child did not hit me - just might have done. Mother apologized. Nothing to apologize for. We exchanged smiles - all was sweetness and light.

Good parenting v bad parenting.
