Disclaimer: I'm short so it was maybe an inch or two above the knee, probably more like two actually. Certainly not as high as model though! I wore it with black flats and tan tights. I work in a bank and think I completely misjudged it - have been wearing it a lot recently though as don't have much workwear 😖

I think it's nice and if it's only a few inches above the knee it's fine for work. I'm very tall though so on me it would be a t shirt Grin

29redshoes · 29/11/2016 15:05

Is it really only a couple of inches above the knee on you? If so then I don't see a problem.

If the model wore that dress in my office it would raise eyebrows. It is waaaaay too short on her.

FurryLittleTwerp · 29/11/2016 15:09

I liked it till I saw the back - I really don't like those very obvious zips!

Error404usernamenotfound · 29/11/2016 15:09

Ye gods, those shoes are dreadful Shock

The dress is lovely though, and perfectly fine for office wear. 2 inches above the knee is not an issue.

HermioneJeanGranger · 29/11/2016 15:09

Grin at £39 being cheap for a dress!

I don't think I've ever paid more than £20 for any item of clothing, except maybe shoes and winter jackets.

chemicalCat · 29/11/2016 15:17

I don't work in a bank but I do need to look professional. I would wear it.

£39 is towards the top of what I'd pay for a work dress.

FV45 · 29/11/2016 15:27

Is the model not petite then?

amusedbush · 29/11/2016 15:33

But surely you're aware that you can buy suits and shirts from Primark, Asda, etc? Just because you don't wear them, it doesn't mean that cheaper clothes don't exist! Confused

I suppose so, i doubt they would look great or be very comfortable.

BabyGanoush · 29/11/2016 15:51

I think it's too short, for work

I have no idea, I’ve never worn anything expensive to compare. However, that’s not the point – your disbelief was at the fact a £39 dress existed! Wink

Miserylovescompany2 · 29/11/2016 15:53

I think the dress is very smart. Ignoring the elongated body of the model who is probably over 5'10"...yes, her shoes are beyond hideous!

On a shorter lady the dress would most definitely be appropriate for working in a bank. I'd personally go with black opaque tights...but, that's only my preference.

...same they haven't got it in my size :(

Miserylovescompany2 · 29/11/2016 15:55

I meant "shame" they haven't got my size...stupid iPad!

JacquelineChan · 29/11/2016 16:11

it's lovely and i would wear that to work , instead of a fleece in the shed - the glamour that is working from home

Crunchymum · 29/11/2016 16:18

There was definitely a 'tan tights' thread not that long ago???

blitheringbuzzards1234 · 29/11/2016 16:19

I think it looks very smart and business-like. Go forth with pride.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 29/11/2016 16:22

I'm 5'3" too, that dress is definitely fine. I was expecting to click on something really skimpy though!

BabyGanoush · 29/11/2016 22:39

But anything above the knee is not really businesslike, in a conservative place like a bank.

Pillowaddict · 29/11/2016 23:24

I don't understand why you are asking belatedly if what you wore to work was ok - unless the outfit is so inappropriate it's a disciplinary matter then how and why could people behind a laptop screen have an opinion, and why should you care? I don't mean this in a harsh way, Im just concerned this is a new way of shaming ourselves to encourage second guessing and over thinking. If you felt comfortable in it and you think it's ok for the workplace then great! I just think you'd rarely hear a man question his outfit choice and its been two threads in as many days on this here so it's made me a bit frustrated.
