The company I work for was bought this year by a bigger company. Our company is a retail business, so a seven-day-a-week business. Our parent company is a weekday business.
This year we are all invited to travel to a big company Christmas party. I wanted to go and was planning to go but have now found out that as I am hourly paid I won't be paid on the day of the party. I am scheduled to work on that day as I always work that day of the week. All salaried staff scheduled to work that day will be paid. So in order to be paid I will have to stay behind to watch the shop.
