8 year old is not too old for playmobil?

My 8 year old has lots of playmobil on Christmas list. I think it's ok because I know they like it and will play with it for a good year. DH thinks it is too young and a waste of money, thinks we should be encouraging more mature things as our child is immature for their age. Their friends are playing on x boxes, building lego etc but our child is not interested in that. 8 year old loves playing schools with figures and taking them on holidays and to the park. Aibu?

I'd have been tempted myself by a Playmobil advent calendar this year if they'd had police or something in them and not just Santa etc.

I can't wait for my niece to be old enough for playmobile. Not for her, but because I want to play with it after she goes to bed...

Sound like your dh could try accepting your D's for who he is. Its really rejecting him to ignore his Christmas list, and substitute stuff he thinks your D's should be into.
Don't know any my phone is doing weird apostrophe stuff.

Playmobil is ace, I wish mine preferred it to lego which is equally ace but also a pain in the fucking arse

My 12 yo DS will still get his playmobil out occasionally (probably wouldn't admit it though!)

My soon to be 10 year old still loves playing with it. Shows imagaination!

Dd played with it until 11. She's 12 now and it wouldn't suit this year but she wasn't that young for her age. She had ipods etc too but she wasn't on them 24/7
