To think Cocklodger ought to be more widely used word.

The word cocklodger is greAt. There are so many men who do this yet there is hardly a widely understood word to describe them. I've just come back from a date with a bloke who is clearly a massive cock lodger. It's taken me hours to think it through, what was off about him and why. if the word cocklodger was commonly used I'd have wasted a lot less thinking time.

'Cock Lodger'. Nope sorry, I don't want to see you again, you're obviously a massive cocklodger.

Can people really not distinguish between words having specific definitions and people being fuckwits?

One is when people disagree about the definitions of words. The other is when people are racist, sexist and/or discriminatory.

Some people are saying, me included, sexism and racism are often defined as past of a class analysis, a larger things than individual prejudice. Not worse or better, just different. That doesn't mean it's OK to be offensive and discriminatory.

I think it's part of a race to define the 'worstest' thing.

I just Googled the phrase 'prejudice plus power' which is how this was defined to me. Turns out alt-right people REALLY hate that analysis. I find that I am usually right when I disagree with them so I'm happy.

"prejudice plus power" is one definition of racism, I accept that it is a part that plays in one form of racism but not in all parts of racism.

I thought racism was one type of prejudice. The type that favors one race over another.

Same with sexism.

To state that you cannot be racist abut white people but you can be prejudiced against white people solely based on their race, but this isn't racism seems false to me. I am very very happy to concede that the harm caused within the UK of racism against white people is many many many magnitudes lesser than the garment caused to bme people. And the historic harms of racism push village tendrils into modern life. But yeah a black person can be racist against a white person.

As a nation however the harms of racism falls away from white people to hurt bme far more.

And yeah we can be sexist against men. But the harms of sexism usually hurts women more than men

It's just a definitional issue. Some people define it as any act that has a element of racial/sexual prejudice and some define it as prejudice plus power.

People get terribly frothy about 'reverse racism' or 'racism' from someone in the othered group to someone in the dominant group. IME it's often racist or sexist people who get her up about it. Not always but often.

I agree that it is an issue with definitions, I also agree that everything that is said is racism or sexism. but neither definition is wrong.

If you love the word "cocklodger" use it shout it loud and proud so all can hear, but if you are not using it in the correct manner, then you devalue the word's meaning and it will be you that looks silly.
