Name changed as embarrassed
Not a poo troll

I have a 12 week baby and seem to have come down with a bug in the last few hours
I can't get off the loo
DH is away with work
BF baby still cluster feeds all evening and is screaming on and off for a feed
What do I do?? AIBU to feed her while I, ahem, sit?
It can't be hygienic for her at all though can it??
Not sure I have a choice
Feel like death

Just had the same things with a 15 week old. Washed my hands like crazy and also kept breastfeeding which I'm sure is a big part of why he managed to avoid it. Keep as hydrated as poss - was sips of Lucozade for me.

As others have said, keep breastfeeding. Your body will be busy making antibodies to fight the bug, this will get passed to baby through your milk so should protect her from catching the bug/make sure she gets a milder dose as her body is already primed to fight it.

Feeding on the loo is fine, just make sure you've a bowl handy so if you need to throw up whilst feeding you have a handy receptacle - cleaning puke off your baby is probably low on your list of favourite things to do right now!!

Most importantly, for your sake and hers, keep drinking. Small, frequent sips of something with sugar in/dioralyte.

It's bad enough to have a bug but bloody awful when you also have a small person to care for - hope you feel better very very soon xx

Thank you for advice , I've been sick through the night but baby has been a superstar and stayed mostly asleep! Thank you baby!!

DH on way back this morning and will hopefully not need to work, so I can stay in bed as soon as he gets in

Definitely try to keep breastfeeding as baby will get antibodies against this virus

Keep yourself hydrated

Most stomach bugs pass quickly

I've had a stomach bug with young baby and luckily it'll probably pass soon. I just did whatever I needed to do to survive!
