If 6 year old DS loves lego, what else would he love?

AIBU to ask for similar-to-lego recommendations for christmas presents for my 6 year old DS? I got him a large classic lego set last christmas and he has received numerous lego "kits" over the past year for his birthday etc. I don't really see the point in getting him another box of general lego and might get him one small lego kit but was wondering what others would suggest. Any one tried knex? Or is there something else I haven't heard of?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Ive got my son mobilo and will be getting him the brio construction set. Not sure what age they are good for as my son is a bit younger (4) but the reviews I read mentioned older children enjoying them

Thank you all! It looks like I am going to have to accept more lego all over all of my floors all of the time!

Marble run

Lego, he'll like lego.

RumbleMum · 17/11/2016 23:17

Knex and the Brio builder stuff would be my recommendation.

Not helpful but more lego :) Ebay is my friend - I buy bundles of general bricks and some sets that will be built once, played with a for a while and then enter the general (huge) box

Lego but k'nex is brilliant, maybe better a little older. DD had loads. The other thing he might like fir a change is magnetix

My DS is 13 now and is still a big lego fan. At that age he like Knex, magnetics and something called Zoobs.

Also round that age I got him a set of Gears. I'll have a look for a link.

2x2 Rubik's cube.

(Not the 3x3 one yet, too hard).

And another vote for marble run.

It was something like this. www.amazon.co.uk/Learning-Resources-Lights-Action-Building/dp/B000MWXFF8/ref=sr_1_4?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1479426116&sr=1-4&keywords=Gears

Another thing to do is to find something on Amazon that your DS already likes and have a look at the 'people who looked at this item bought' section.

Lego, Lego, Lego in this house.

I'm watching this thread for inspiration as we're about to have a 6th birthday and Christmas within the same week. Last year, that amounted to a humongous quantity of Lego (and a very happy child!)

We have boxes of Lego from DS1 and DD so decided to start collecting playmobil for DS2 (5)
There are some great sets and they play with them for ages.
