I know this is a first world problem, but I'm so upset over this.

I've been extremely strapped for money recently, and in general I'm not a big spender.

But I decided to treat myself to something nice after a particularly rough week. (Work, bf everything was rubbish)

I bought a lipstick which in my opinion is expensive (£25) - I'd been eyeing this for weeks!!

It turns out that the lipstick is horrible.

It actually dries my lips out and doesn't stay for longer than 5 mins. It's practically the worst lipstick I've ever used.

I did go back in store to complain about this but they refused to help me Sad

I know a lot people will think I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, but money is tight for me and I'd treated myself to something nice after a very long time.

I'm soooo disappointed that the brand won't take any responsibility for the horrible product they've churned out.

Anyway, rant over.

Clearly a first world problem, but I hate wasting money

but the one op got could have just been in a faulty batch she didnt even try the other one

I don't think brands are obliged to refund for an allergic reaction - although most will as a goodwill gesture because the info on the reaction is valuable to them.

I bought a BB lipstick ages ago and I found it drying and just awful. It is hiding at the back of a drawer where I look at it resentfully every so often. I thought it was just how the lipstick was - quite matt and maybe I was used to slicker makes.

It's easy to set up an ebay account.
Could be useful if you are short on money and want to sell a few items that are no longer any use to you.
They do NOT take 25%.
I've no idea where you got that idea from.
I think it depends what you sell but it's around 1% not 25%

Definitely go to their customer services and complain about the retailer while you are there. I have always found Bobbi Brown to be very good.

I had a problem with a Clarins item bought online. I rang the number on the receipt, the woman was very offhand but said she'd pass it on. A month later I sent a message on FB asking them to contact me, they didn't. A month after that I wrote to their customer services expressing my dissatisfaction and still got no response.
Finally I rang their Head Office and asked them to address it. They were very apologetic, agreed product not right and handling of complaint poor, and gave gifts to more than cover the cost.
It is worth keeping on till you get something sorted

OP can I ask what colour lipstick it was? I have one Bobbi Brown lipstick which has an incredible colour but always dries and clumps within a couple hours - I thought it was just me.

I second the PP than mentioned NYX, so far every lip colour I've bought has been great (especially the mattes), plus if they're rubbish it's hardly any money to lose.

I think it depends what you sell but it's around 1% not 25%

It's 10% on most things and several % on paypal fees.

You didn't check a sample before spending £25 on a lipstick? I think the manager is right - there is nothing wrong with the product and it has been used. You just don't like it

Amelie10 · 17/11/2016 18:14

You should definitely complain based on the manager trying it on her hand Shockhow can she expect you to use it after that??

Liiinoo · 17/11/2016 18:28

I agree with the pp who mentioned the BB shimmer crumbling. I have given up on BB powder compacts of all sorts, blusher, shimmer bricks, bronzer. They all break up very quickly. I bought one of the £25 lipsticks though (Uber Rose, very nice) and find it very smooth and easy to wear.
