Music lessons....how much

Aibu to ask what you pay for individual music tuition for your children? I have a friend who is going back into teaching and is unsure where to pitch it. Thank you!!

Guitar lessons - £20 for 30 mins, drum lessons - £15 for an hour (this is very cheap).

We pay £10 for 30 mins piano but this is in the Midlands and teacher is nearly retired, very cheap.

£13 for half hour piano. £15 for half hour drums.

£16 for 20 mins piano (ow!)
Have also paid £18 for 30mins which is more usual I think. South East.

I pay £8.50 for 30 mins but that is a group lesson (so the other girl pays £8.50 too), and is slightly subsidised by the school. For an actual individual private lesson we would pay £20 for 30 mins with the same teacher outside of school.

Guitar for DS1 £25 for an hour with follow up notes. Cello for me (grade 8+) £36 45 minutes.

We pay £13 per half hour or £25 an hour for 1 to 1 piano and singing lessons. We are in the south west, there is a serious shortage of music teachers in our area.

£22 for 30min instrument tuition & £14 for 1/2 hour music theory in London.

We pay £20 per hour for piano lessons which is awfully cheap.

£19/half hour piano - teacher comes to us.
£25/half hour - teacher does 2 kids at the same time - kid's choice.

In south east, not a kid but AFAIK he doesn't charge different prices to children. I pay £30 for an hour lesson with a qualified (LRAM) and highly experienced violin teacher.

£56 a month for a 50 minute guitar lesson once a week. It's with 2 other students but has a tutor & also a university music student. One brilliant idea the tutor has us she records part of the lesson with my child playing & forwards it to me so it can be played for practice plus she posts instructional videos once a week as refreshers. She's very dedicated.

My DCs teacher is a postgrad of a conservatoire and teaches on its junior courses. We are in the provinces though. She charges £30 an hour.

My own teacher charges £40 an hour - again in the provinces but she has had a professional career and teaches at the conservatoires/music schools.

£22 for half an hour violin

More expensive round here £35 for 40mins for singing.

Piano and trumpet lessons at £15 per half hour, for 1-to-1 and teacher comes to our house. My piano lesson at a music school £14 for a 1-to-1 lesson. We are in the E. Mids.
