honestly some of the stuff you read you think ..awww how awful...and after about five pages of posters doing their best to give advice , MN steps in and zaps the thread...
Often and more and more I read something, start composing a reply and then thing no fuckit its a troll.
Obviously trollhunting is offlimits, but really?

My suspicions go up when a poster claims to have a high-powered job & their written English is really crap. Loose instead of lose etc.

QueenLizIII · 14/11/2016 02:56

I really do have a high powered job but i am a shit typist and auto correct is a bugger.

See....I didnt capitalise an I up there are and didnt doesn't automatically put the apostrophe in. It's my phone. It doesn't mean I'm thick and pretending to be smart.

QueenLizIII · 14/11/2016 02:57

And look it came up with there are and not just there.

Auto correct added a word.

LouisvilleLlama · 14/11/2016 02:58

Queen you know you can change autocorrect so you can get it to stop saying ducking instead of fucking etc?

LouisvilleLlama · 14/11/2016 02:59

... on an iPhone I mean ( probably available on android as well

QueenLizIII · 14/11/2016 03:00

yeah i know. but i often dont notice when it throws random extra words in.

LouisvilleLlama · 14/11/2016 03:01

Yeah it's annoying, I wasnt criticising just offering a solution to an annoying issue

lizzieoak · 14/11/2016 03:14

Far be it from me to argue w another Liznamed poster, but I am can read the difference between typos, autocorrects mad behaviour, & people who have English as their first language but who don't write well, but say they've got a posh job which would require strong communication skills.

I'm not saying they're lying as I have no way of knowing. I am saying it makes me pretty suspicious.

lizzieoak · 14/11/2016 03:15

Humph, just left off an apostrophe as am trying to watch telly and type. But then I don't say I've got a posh job!

SeaEagleFeather · 14/11/2016 08:08

My life is trolling me grin

hehe! This seems familiar.

The trouble is that sometimes really dramatic things do happen, how do you tell the difference between a troll and a genuine poster?

Even more so when some people are simply not that eloquent on line and don't come over 'well'. Or alternatively are too good writers. The writing style can obscure the actual life-events or what's being asked sometimes, which is a pity.

Not investing more than you can shrug off seems the best to me.

There is a school for children with "issues" just roung the corner. To give an idea about the pupils, the playground is secured with a 10 ft high fence ...with an anti climb roller on the inside... it is effectively a prison ...

However, listening to Professor Wilson when he opened the place, it is clear that some of the children really do have to deal with some awful crap. So yes, it is likely that many of the stories are real. Some, however....
