..... that my big brother is a sergeant in our lical police force and earlier this tear recieved a bravery award.

As a result, he has been asked to join the Honour Guard, and will be marching in the civil service contingent in the rememberance parade in London tomorrow. He will then have to 'guard'the cenotaph.

I'm so proud I could burst! And just wanted to share Smile

CheckpointCharlie2 he and his officers were the first responders to a report of an armed raid.

When he got there he made the decision to enter unarmed to check for casualties. They found the someone shot and he performed CPR on him for a long, long time before the ambulance got there, despite the chances of this person still being incredibly low.

The man died in the end, but they were commended for their efforts to give him the best possible chance of survival inna difficult situation.

This isn't the first award he has had either. I remember him getting an award for single handedly disarming a mentally unwell man with a knife who was threatening to use it on the public. he'd only been in the job a short time at that point too.

He's been drafted in to keep people safe at the Olympics, the G8 summit, party conference and other big events where preparing for terrorist attacks is part of the job.

It amazes me, about all police, just how much they deal with and put themselves at risk to ensure our safety!! I can't imagine dealing with whathr has had to on a daily basis!

And to the poster who asked.... he is married Grin
