There should be no wall and if there is why on earth should Mexico pay?

Bullshit really. There will be no wall

They should build the wall! It ought to work, China has a great big wall and there's hardly any Mexicans there.

There will be no wall.
The wall was a metaphor.

He meant it pretty literally. He just didn't realize he was going to actually win, so now it becomes a metaphor retroactively.

Super funny!

I seriously doubt that he's going to get Mexico to pay , or even build the thing in the first place but if you dial down the hysteria and cries of 'racist' or whatever liberal shite they're coming up with you have to face facts that it's actually not such a terrible idea.

The fact is that thousands of illegal immigrants every year cross that border. They are most certainly NOT the awful people that trump makes them out to be but they ARE committing a crime by entering the US illegally. Whatever their motivations they just cannot expect to be allowed into the country and to remain there. Also many people are injured or even die trying to cross.

The police and border guards for the Mexico border cost America millions and millions of dollars every year and every year more and more immigrants get through. A wall (although construction costs would be astronomical) is actually a sensible investment. It would vastly cut down on policing costs and save money year in year until it paid for itself. Illegal immigration would fall drastically and all the costs that go along with that.

I do not like the hateful way in which he says things but some of his policies, if presented in a more professional manner without all the insults and inflammatory language are actually pretty sensible.

Now he appears to be striking a more consiliatory tone perhaps it's time to just go along with it for now (not that there's any choice in the matter) and give him a chance.
