Woken up to find bastard got in through a tiny window, found car keys (for nicer car) and its been nicked. All of us- 2 small DC sleeping upstairs.
What are chances its found and we get it back- none? Do you think insurance will stay pay out? our double buggy, car seat, basically so much of my life is in that car...just utterly shocked.

Wish I'd know our car was basically one of the most in demand amongst thieves- the "nippy Audi" being mentioned on here, a white S3 Sad.
Sounds bit crazy but that car was my friend...days where both kids screaming heads off, utter chaos and me about to have breakdown - I'd load us all into the car, switch my cosy heated seats on, crank up the cheesy tunes and all would be good. It was like a big heavy comfort blanket, always there..untill some bastard decided to climb through a window, walk through my house, find its keys and force it to drive away-taking so much of my kids paraphernalia with it .

Still cant get over it...was scary being in the house last night.

It is scary bring in the house after being burgeled but it does get better OP... Sorry you lost your friend in the car, I know this feeling of attachment!

Yup, loved that car. It was never found, but that's not much of a shock as they never looked for it.

Insurance paid once I'd signed a piece of paper saying if the car ever drove itself back it was their property.

RIP Pugsley.

My car first was stolen a few years ago; to this day I don't know a thing.

I'm sorry you're going through this - it's a horrible thing to happen.

I don't even own a car and I've had attempted break-ins that I believe are just because my neighbour parks her car outside my house. The last time it happened was a couple of weeks ago. My door was damaged as they tried to kick it in but luckily it held up.

Apparently four houses were targeted before some poor fellow woke up next morning to find his car gone.

Thanks notsmart thats very sweet of you. How horrendous re your road, very glad you have a tough front door! This is 1st house I've lived in with driveway, always thought a car parked in front of a house was great for security as it said "we are at home dot come in"...but actually it also says "this car definitely belongs to this house and the keys are inside!". Horrid.

My mums car was taken after the thief walked in her unlocked front door whilst she was i the house and took the keys off the hook. To this day I'm glad he did as he was obviously in the house looking for miveyetc and might have been dangerous. He drive her car all over city picking up fines everywhere for speeding before abandoning it and setting it on fire. Little shit I hope he managed to burn himself, insurance paid out and she got a nicer car.
