We also get them an annual each and some shared board games/sports stuff, but there lists aren't very long this year.

What are you getting your dc?

oobedobe · 14/11/2016 02:40

Gifts are from us and family

DD1 (8)
Hatchimal (managed to find one after 3 weeks of looking!)
Fashion Plates
Barbie Hoverboard
Snap Circuits
Scrapbooking set
Boardgame
Stocking stuff; includes small craft stuff, books, chocs

DD2 (4)
Barbie Unicorn
Barbie Mermaid

Trolls play set

Stocking stuff; includes craft stuff, books, chocs etc

Every year I am so torn between buying them everything I think they will like and trying not to spoil them. I know from other years that less is better, or they get overwhelmed but it is always hard not to just buy them 'one more thing'!

Dd is 1 on Christmas Eve so i have stuff to spread between her birthday and Christmas:

Pinky ponk
Twirlywoo
Activity table
Walker
Vtech cat in carrier thing
Toot toot unicorn
Leapfrog picnic basket
Shape sorter
Some clothes

Ds (7)
PS4 (against my better judgement)
Some Star Wars stuff - found this brilliant thumb wars game where you put lightsabers on your thumbs if anyone else has children who love Star Wars. Obviously it's tat really but ds will LOVE it.
Some action figures
Books
A couple of games
A crystal rainbow maker (he really wanted one of these)

Just stockings to do now. Unless I twitch... we had such an awful Christmas last year as dd was poorly when born and was in intensive care. In fact I hadn't even seen her as I was poorly too. So I'd like ds in particular to have a nice Christmas this year as I didn't see him last year either.

KeyserSophie · 14/11/2016 04:09

Just stockings this year. We're going to Australia and can only take so much with us, and neither of them has any real asks so I figured.....

PetalMettle · 14/11/2016 04:59

Blimey people get a lot! I thought 10 per child seemed a lot until I saw close on 20 for a 5 month old.
We are getting DS who will be 18 months a play kitchen half price from mother Care. Then little bits to open each way on the plane. Haven't thought about Xmas day itself, prob a couple of little things.
He's got a lot of toys and books and we have a small flat!

Interestingangelfish · 14/11/2016 05:22

Dd (4):
Couple of Sylvanian family sets (got one second hand).
Cuddly prairie dog (her current favourite animal)
A My Little Pony
Usborne sticker book.
Sea monkey eggs for her sea monkey aquarium (the old ones finally died)
Some DVDs
Paperweight (she collects them, like most four year olds Hmm)

Having purchased all this, was today informed by her that she wants "sticker books and activity books". That would have been considerably cheaper, but will at least constitute a saving for the gps.

MrsDrSpencerReid · 14/11/2016 09:09

DD (turns 10 the week before Christmas)
Lush
Instax mini camera + film (I won it, been hiding it for weeks Grin)
Round beach towel
New bikini
Boogie board
Books
Lego Friends
(We live in Australia if the beach stuff seems odd, lol)

DS (7)
Lego
Lego
Lego
Lego
Lego
Lego
Grin

And I've got them both tickets to see Operation Ouch Live at the Sydney Opera House

littlemissangrypants · 14/11/2016 09:24

Ds (16/17) has asked for a pc. Dp will build this for him. Ds (15) wants a new laptop. It's a lot of money to spend on something but I feel like they should still get a few extras so they have some american sweets and a t-shirt too. I might add a new washbag too.
We do a present for christmas eve too as I am german so they will probably get a board game as well. It doesn't sound like they are getting a lot of things but the cost is quite scary.

CheeseAndBeans · 14/11/2016 09:44

DD1 (3)
Cheap tablet
Books
Peppa pig house playset
Rucksack for starting nursery
Plus stocking with about 15 small gifts

DD2 (6 months)
Shape sorting bus
Lamaze toy
Books
Fisher price musical toy
Plus stocking with lots of weaning stuff, things we would buy anyway

zoendavid2 · 14/11/2016 09:56

stripystars I saw equestrian girls in smyths yesterday for £5 each don't know if it is nationwide but that was in horwich (bolton) xx

Camomila · 14/11/2016 10:46

DS (7m)

A teddy from us
A wooden toy (maybe a trolley with blocks) from Father Christmas

I'm also going to by a wooden nativity set but that mainly because I'd like a childproof decoration as he's just starting to crawl so will only do a teeny tiny tree.
